This Ramcharger is very clean and appears to be rust free. It really is exceptionally clean inside and out.
It is very obvious that this truck has not been exposed to road salt. It was repainted by the previous owner to an OK standard. This truck has passed NJ emissions inspection with no issues but is now exempt from inspection due to its age.
The truck is equipped with the following features: Magnum 5.2L engine, automatic transmission, four wheel drive, power windows, locks & mirrors, cruise control, tilt wheel, intermittent wipers and a/c. This truck is also equipped with the trailer tow package and has trailer brake controller. All of the above features function as they should. I have installed a Kenwood excelon Bluetooth head unit and speakers without cutting any harnesses. It also has Sirius/XM utilizing a Mopar OEM antenna mounted in the roof as if it was factory installed.
I have equipped the truck with DOT approved LED headlamps, turn signals and tail lamps. It also has an OEM roof mounted third brake light as well as a Putco blade LED tailgate light strip, in an effort to get the attention of inattentive drivers. All of the exterior lighting lenses have been replaced with NOS Mopar parts, as the originals were looking a little weathered to me.
I also hunted down a nos Mopar painted grill to replace the cracked one originally on the truck. They all crack by the letter G; this one is perfect.
The truck has new 17 inch Black Rock aluminum wheels with BF Goodrich A/T KO2 tires. The suspension has been leveled out by re-arching the original leaf springs and adding a helper spring, the bushings were also replaced; it is approx. 2.5 inches higher than stock. The shocks are new skyjacker Black-Max Hydro units. Sway bar end links and mounting bushings are also all new.
The following fluids have been exchanged: brake, power steering, engine coolant, engine oil, transmission, transfer case and front & rear differentials.
All fluids have been replaced with the correct synthetic products; I used genuine Mopar ATF+4 and the correct filter as specified by Chrysler for this transmission.
I went through all of the mechanical systems and replaced anything that I felt was worn. The fuel injection system was rebuilt with all new sensors and I replaced the flimsy stock intake manifold pan with a billet aluminum one from Hughes Engines Inc., it will never leak again. I also replaced the rockers, pushrods, timing chain, oil pump and rear main seal, then resealed the top and bottom of the engine.A photo of the manifold after rebuild is included in this listing
Below are the details, by system, of what has been replaced. I used nos Mopar parts where available, searched hard to find them and have the receipts to prove it.
Cooling System - radiator, expansion tank, upper and lower hoses, heater hoses, heater valve, heater core, fan clutch, water pump, serpentine belt and tensioner assembly, thermostat & housing, all clamps with proper OE style spring type clamps.
Fuel System - tps sensor, air temp sensor, map sensor, crank angle sensor, coolant temp sensor, vehicle speed sensor, fuel pump/sending unit assembly, fuel filter, air filter, egr valve & solenoid, soft fuel lines, regulator, filler neck grommet on tank. I also cleaned the inside of the fuel tank and replaced the engine controller due to dried out capacitors on the main board.
Ignition System - distributor cap, rotor & seal, hall effect sensor (pickup) & ignition wires.
A/C & heating system - compressor, discharge lines, condenser, receiver drier, expansion valve, clutch cycle switch, evaporator, correct compressor oil and R12 refrigerant. The heater box was removed from the truck and cleaned of all debris before the heater & evaporator cores were replaced.
Steering system - Pump, high pressure line, return line, all clamps, steering shaft coupler, tie rod ends and steering damper. The pump is new Mopar, not rebuilt junk. The auxiliary steering fluid cooler was removed flushed and reinstalled.
Charging system - alternator, positive and negative battery cables(nos Mopar)
Starting system - starter and its relay (nos Mopar, not rebuilt junk)
Braking system - front pads and rotors, front brake hoses from axle to hubs, rear shoes, wheel cylinders and all hardware, rear brake hose from chassis to axle, ABS pressure modulator assembly, ABS sensor harness assembly. This harness regularly fails so I replaced it withnew before is does.
Driveline system - all u-joints on front and reardrive shafts, engine mounts, Transmission mounts, transfer case was removed and rebuilt. All bearings, seals, O-rings, oil pump, oilpickup, guides, chain, syncro block ring were replaced inside of the transfer case. The front and rear differentials were opened, cleaned, flushed and inspected. The front auto locking hubs were disassembled cleaned, inspected and rebuilt. The front wheel bearings and seals werealso replaced.
This is a solid ready to go truck, not a project, so bid accordingly.
