Looking for a conversation starter at the next local mud bogging event? Or need a legitimate vintage 4x4 recovery truck? We at MotoeXotica Classic Cars may have the answer in this ¾-ton 1942 Dodge WC54 Power Wagon 4x4 Dually Tow Truck equipped with a Braden 10,000 pound PTO winch!
Made in Warren, Michigan and finished in red over black, this truck looks great with its Mopar livery, twin vertical exhaust stacks and functional cowl lights, emergency revolving light Yankee Model 1160 and two Stratolite lights mounted at the top. The paint and trim are in near excellent overall condition. The body panels are solid and straight, even the black running boards. The windows are clear and intact. The truck’s lights are in one piece and clear, including the cowl lights. The rear side panels are adorned with The Chrysler Company livery.
The truck rolls on Denman NDT 9.00-16 all-terrain tires mounted silver wheels. Note there are dual wheels at the rear. Out back, the custom cargo bed features stunning new wood planking that looks very handsome with the bright red exterior paint. The engine bay is tidy and the front bumper is in very good order. In the rear is the Braden MU2 10,000 pound PTO winch and a mechanical chain and cable wrecker .
Under the hood labeled Power Wagon, is a 230 CID flathead straight six-cylinder engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission.
Inside, the gray, black and red interior is in very good overall shape. The modern leather gray bucket seats with black inserts look fantastic and add a modern touch to this World War II-era truck. The black carpet is also in very good order, as is the gray headliner. The red metal instrument panel shines in the light and complements the rest of the interior. Ancillary voltage and amperage gauges are mounted below the dashboard. The fuel gauge, speedometer and horn are inoperable. A factory three-spoke steering wheel is present and the inner door panels match the seat colors, framed by red. The mirror glass, center console with dual cupholders and shifter are all in good shape. There is also a Mopar Truck Master Model 62 Heater mounted to the lower firewall.
Competition to this Dodge in 1942 included Chevrolet’s AK Series trucks, Ford’s F3 trucks and GMC’s C-series trucks.
This truck is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 26,647 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
