1988 Dodge Ram 2500 Additional Info:
This is the "grail" truck they talk about on the Cummins and diesel forums -- it was only sold for half a year from 1998 to 98 1/2 with the 12 valve engine, quad cab and short bed. There are gauges down the pillar. The front brush guard and rear bumper are beefy and awesome. Aftermarket extra deep transmission pan. There is a hitch in the bed. This baby is LOUD as whoever owned it before me did a straight pipe mod to it. So you should be into that sort of thing. This has been an great truck and is a beast. I've regularly maintained it including having the "killer dowel pin" preventive fix done. Recently put another $700 into it for tune up, tranny service and a couple parts that were due for replacement. 2 new batteries maybe a year or so ago. I put a new radiator and fan clutch in shortly after I bought it just for good measure.
Truck is running well but it needs some cosmetic TLC. There is some mild rust starting to come in at the bottom of the doors and at the bottom of the front fenders so that will need to be addressed. It has the usual issues such as cracking dash and other plastic parts. The cup holder needs to be fixed but I never worried about it since I got the truck. Stereo needs to be replaced because the display is out. Electric drivers seat adjustment needs to be repaired (I think previous owner damaged it when removing custom stereo equipment and I never bothered to fix since the seat is where I want it.)
Feel free to get in touch for more details. It's kind of impossible to go through everything about the truck so you should be comfortable with it being well used and there will be things I have not mentioned. I've tried to hit all the important stuff.
