Hello everybody, thanks for checking out my listing. Up for sale is my 1971 Dodge Charger SE, WITHOUT RESERVE. I purchased it this past summer thinking I'd sell my 74 Charger to fix and drive this one. Problem is I've come to love my 74 and I have a 72 Dart& Roadrunner that are in the process of a long haul restoration, soI have to let her go. I bought this car from a super nice Long Island manthat I think is the second owner. So I have an official NY Bill of Sale and a notarized NJ form that easily allows me to put it in my name. The winner will have the choice to be the third official owner. Or I can put it in my name and they can be the fourth owner. Winner's Choice.
This is a 318 car with hideaway headlights, console shift, bucket seats, 150-speedo with the nicer round dial dash. The second owner welded in some patches in the body (now under minimal bondo) and the floors. The trunk has minimal rust and some holes that I think were made by welding brackets to the underside. I think these holes can be closed up with built up welding and worth the effort as the rest looks solid. Also the drop-off panels look to be in good shape. The rear wheel wells may need open or two small patches (no big holes) and are totally savable. The rockers look solid and I found no rust issues in the engine compartment. The frames have normal surface oxidation but no rot. I have nearly all the bits and pieces the last owner took off and put in labeled bags. I also have a laminated build sheet.
The last owner said the engine worked when he bought it years ago and I have no reason to doubt him. I turn the block this summer and it felt as it should, but have not turned it since. It should be a block that's never been rebuilt or tampered with, but I cannot guarantee that. The wiring seems mostly intact and I think all the lamps& bracketsare in the pictured pile of disassembled parts. Most everything should be there, but obviously much will have to be reconditioned and orreplaced. This a very strong starter Hot Rod Project and has a lot of nice things going for it. Included the fact that I'm selling it without reserve. But please do not bid, or bid and buy if you have no intention of paying. Also it must be towed away from my brother's home in Long Branch NJ before May - this is not negotiable and is part of the terms of purchase. I have a tried, tested & true shipper who is happy to provide shipping quotes. Or you're welcome to use your own guy. Please feel free to call me or come and see her in person. I'm happy to answer questions and send pictures.Thank you, Jad, 973 517 3909.
