1971 Dodge Charger R/T Additional Info:
Up for auction is this very original, numbers matching 1971 Dodge Charger R/T. Original TX9 Black stripe delete car with white vinyl top and white interiorwith the hounds toothinserts. The car retains its original 440 cid engine along with the numbers matching 727 TorqueFlite transmission. Except for the two front fenders, it is original paint, interior is all original other than the carpet. Also, has factory air conditioning; system is complete and does blow cool, not cold so will need work....still running R12. Life long Texas car, original metal car. Only rust is under vinyl roof around rear window along with small spot on lower right quarter. Retains all original factory tinted AC glass. Again, I must stress the original aspects of this car. To me it appears only the carpet and radiator have been replaced. Radiator is coded for an 1968 440 car. Car is optioned with wood Rim Blow steering wheel, AM/FM radio, tachometer, console automatic, and as mentionedair conditioning. This is a very original, rare 1971 R/T especially being a real TX9 black car. There are only 8 black 1971 Charger R/Ts on the on-line registry for these cars and none of those have this top/interior option. Again, this is also a factory stripe delete car. It does have the original R/T hood stripe, it being a black stripe on a black car. Car shows just under 94,000 miles most of which were put on in the first 20 years. Car was purchased by third owner in early 1990s and driven very little after that so car did sit for some time. I am selling this car as a minor project, it will need sorting with minimal work to be reliablydriven. Car does run and idle well now, blows no smoke and leaksno oil. Transmission pan will need to be replaced, is leaking. It will depend on what the next owner wants to do, keep it original and drive or fully restore. Electricalsystem is good except for front marker lights and the horn. And yes the annoying key in the ignitiondoor buzzer works just fine. There is slight body damage to left lower front fender; it is pushed in from what I was told a front tire going out. Also, I have the fender Charger R/T emblems and the Pentastar, just haven't put them on. Included with the car is the correct date coded rebuilt Carter AFB carburetorfor this car. I would highly encourageall interestedbidders to get in touch with me through this listing and I will gladly discuss the car with you in more detail. I can send you my phone number or send me yours and a good time to call. I must move on another car and just can't keep this one. A very rare, worthy Mopar that needs to be back on the road. I can send more pictures if needed. Car is sold where is, as is with no warrantiesexpressed or implied. Also, I reserve the right to end auction at any time due to car being for sale locally.
