1973 Dodge Dart Sport Additional Info:

1973 Dodge Dart Convertriple
Up for sale is a 1973 Dodge Dart Sport Convertriple. The "Convertriple" option was for the 1973 and 1974 year Dart Sport. It was the basis for the 1975 "Hang Ten" Dart. For 1973 and 1974, the "Convertriple" option on the Dart Sport included a fold-down rear seat/security panel offering 6ft 5in (1.96m) of lengthwise space, and a manually operated metal sunroof. It was advertised as "three cars in one": an economy compact, a convertible alternative because of the sunroof, and a roomy station wagon alternative because of the fold down rear seat. The car is located in Shirley, Arkansas and comes with a clear Arkansas title.
Exterior
The body on this car is pretty solid and straight. It does have a few very minor dings in it that can only really be seen when looking down the side of the car. The paint is fair. The previous owner put a red flake on top of the factory red paint. It can be seen in the pictures. All of the glass is in good shape with no cracks or chips.
Interior
The interior presents very well on this car. It is believed to be the original interior to this car. The back seat folds down along with a panel giving full access to the trunk for hauling items that won't fit in the truck normally. It has the factory sunroof that is in fully functioning condition, and does not leak.
Engine/Transmission
This car originally came with a 318, but has been swapped out with a 1973 340. The engine has been gone through and has all new bearings. It does have a mild cam. I am not certain as to the brand or size of the cam though. The engine runs good, and the transmission shifts good. Has a brand new starter and battery. The radiator has been professionally re-done.
The transmission has been rebuilt and has a shift kit with a manual valve body. Therefor, it has to be shifted out manually. It still has the factory rear end gears in it, which are a little high for the cammed 340. It does have a very slow take off, but a second or two into it, it will get going just fine and drive out fine. The reason for this, is that it needs either a stahl converter or lower rear end gears. Either one of those will fix the slow take off.
Wheels/Tires
It has brand new Cooper Tires all the way around. The wheels are 15" Chrome Progressive wheels.
Exhaust
It has long tube headers with true dual Flowmaster exhaust that turn down just after the rear end.
Feel free to ask any questions you may have about the car. It is listed locally, therefor I reserve the right to end auction at any time due to a local sale. Thanks for looking.
