Up for auction is this 1942 Dodge 4 door sedan. This is a very nice piece of history. Last year for cars to be built before iron was used for war. Production of cars for public started up again in 1946. Serial number is 30634134. This is an original car with a few thing freshened up. It has been stored inside most of its life. The body was in good shape with a few minor digs and dents fixed and a fresh DuPont pant job applied back to close the original color. The inside jambs and undersides of trunk and hood have been sprayed.All the stainless has been detailed and put back on. The 3 piece bumpers andbumper guards have new chrome on them. It does have newer 15" rims, radio tires, and hubcaps on it now, but do still have 5-16"original wheelsthat willgo with the car, there is only 3 original hubcaps and they are rough. Has 4 new brakewheel cylinders, master cylinder overhauled, and new brake shoes. New fender welting. Trunk has been modernized and looks nice. Has new weather strip around doors, trunk, and cowl vent. Has new wind lace around doors. Now the interior. The dash is completely original, paint, gauges, radio, clock, and looks like it did from day one. The chrome is really nice, gauges all work, radio turns on and hums but doesn't pick anything up, and the clock doesn't work. Original steering wheel. The seats are original and are nice, they had covers on them and when removed look like they do. Has the original owners manual.The headliner is new, door panels new, and front carpet new. All the glass is original, and roll up and down like they should. The original 6 cylinder motor sounds good and has94266 miles on it. Motor hasn't been out of car so hasn't been detailed. other than air cleaner, horns, and a few items.It has a Fluid Drive transmission, thatyou start outwith a clutch and then it acts like an automatic trans.The gas tank has been removed and professionally cleaned. Have clear Nebraska title for car. This car runs and drives like a 75 year old car should. This car belongs to my father in law, call him with questions at 308-641-6801 Francis.
