Up for sale here is a rare 1931 Dodge Brothers business coupe. It has to be rare - they made less than 3200 of them over 85 years ago so how many do you think are left? My understanding is that this is what is called the DH-6 business coupe.
I pulled this out of a barn a couple of years ago where it had sat undisturbedsince 1953. I took it to a car wash and just used a clean rinse to knock off most of the dirt at that time. It has not ben washed or anything with the body since then. It definitely needs a good cleaning. I had lots of good intentions for the car, but have finally had to accept the fact the I do not have the time or room to take on this project and I do not want to see it sit for another 60 years so here you go.
The body on the car is in extremely good shape. It is unrestored and only shows minimal surface rust. It does have the dual fender mounted spare tire option and the rear luggage rack. The doors, trunk, and hood all seem to open, close and latch as they are supposed to. All the glass is in the car, but there are cracks in some of it.
I am going to say the car is 99% complete. I have not noticed anything that is not there, but could be missing something minor. The engine is locked up. I have put Marvel oil in the cylinders and let sit for a few days 3 different timesand still have been able to get it to turn over. That is about all I have done with the car.
As you can see in the background, I do not have a lot of room around the car, but if you want to see a pic of something particular, then shoot me an email and I will do my best to get it for you. If you have someone in this area that you want to inspect the car there will not be any problem arranging that. The car is located 60 miles east of Amarillo Texas.
High bidder must pay$500 down payment via paypal within 48 hours of auction end. I am easy guy to work with. I can store the car for a short time if reasonable efforts are being made to get the car removed. If you come to get the car in person and feel I mis-represented it, I will refund your money 100% no questions asked. High bidder is responsible for shipping. All funds must be paid in fullin cash before the car leaves my possession. Once the car goes on the trailer, it is your car!
I do have a reserve on the car and I will not reveal what it is. I will say the reserve is substantially less than whatI was offered for the car right afterI acquired it. My loss there. Just bid what you are comfortable with and we will see what happens from there. I do reserve the right to end the auction if I so desire, but only as long as it has not met reserve. If it meets the reserve, I will let the auction run out and will not close it.
PLEASE ASK ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE AUCTION END.
Thanks for looking.

Sorry, I forgot to say that I do have a clear Texas title in my name for the car. I have had several questions about this. The number on the title is supposed to be the motor serial number. I can not find the motor serial number. If someone on here can help me locate that, I will be glad to add a pic of it as well and to verify if it is original motor or not. I did add pics this morning of the tag on the passenger door rail and the body tag from the firewall. I have the title from the previous owner when they bought the car in 1941. It says on it that it is titled by the motor number. I also have the license receipts from 52 and the last year they tagged it in 53.
While I was trying to find the motor tag this morning I realized that I did not say in the original listing that the water pump and generator have been removed from the engine. Both are in the trunk of the car. I also just noticed that the exhaust pipe going under the car is missing. I added couple more engine pics so you can see that. I bought the car from the p/o daughter and she does not know anything about what was done to the car. Obviously there was something wrong with it as to why it was parked. He must of done some work by pulling the water pump and generator, but it looks like the work stopped there.
