1972 De Tomaso Other w/DeTomaso CUSTOM BUILT W/FACTORY documentation Additional Info:
A rare opportunity to own an original 12000 mile Panterawith bona-fide documentation & signed letter from Mr. DeTomaso to Senator P.J. Morgan of the Nebraska State Legislature that visited the factory to order this car the way ~he~ wanted it. Different interior, decal callouts, GT flares, higher performance engine, GP 4 racing brake calipers, clock, steering wheel, and more. The car was built for him & FLOWN to the US in the belly of a ~Chartered a Pan Am Boeing 747~ Flight 111 documents show. I personally have spoken to him regarding this car.I bought this car many years ago, it was a part of the John Belt Exotic Car Collection in the Ozarks, two of which were Pantera. Sat in the showroom for years. John Belt installed a rear wing 15 years ago. We removed it, nobody liked the rear wing. The car was always stored indoors from new, the Senator barely drove the car & he remembers it fondly. The paint quality is extremely presentable. It's a very pretty car with performance to match. Cammed up from the factory & high compression, GTS exhaust. Excellent drivetrain, no grinding, & fully serviced. Mechanically it runs well enough to drive home! And I don't know where you even live, but I have that much confidence in this car.

Keep in mind when buying any high dollar collector car, it may be the best idea to buy the rarest of any marque. For example, if you wanted 1962 Corvette. Which would be the most bang for the buck & resale, the 250 horse or the Fuelie? The Fuelie is always in demand, they made so few. Now on to a car with pedigree such as a '62 Zora Duntov owned example, adds considerable interest & value, and more importantly bang for the buck. Maybe a red/red 4 gear Fuelie with Big Brakes, or TANKER. Or BOTH. You get the point. That being said, just in documentation alone this Pantera has to be at the top of the heap. I don't know of a more documented '72 out there with bona-fide DeTomaso paperwork, & history to the great P.J. Morgan. Anybody can buy a Pantera. But you only get so many chances at the Brass Ring examples...so to speak. This is one of one.
