1960 DeSoto Adventurer Additional Info:
The 1960 DeSoto represents the finest work of one of the greatest automotive designers of all time: Virgil Exner. This example, with its maroon top over white body, is a real head turner!
Rare swivel seats, push button transmission, and the powerful 383 V8 engine on this DeSoto are complemented by its excellent condition.
The car starts and runs great (especially after un-sticking the choke). She was sitting a bit low in the rear when I bought it, so I had the leaf springs replaced and now she looks and rides much better.
Interior is in very good condition except for a separation in the rear seat fabric, visible in the pictures.
Tires, battery, etc. are fine.
An excellent repaint was done by the previous owner, who was in the same Virginia town where the car had been garaged since new.
I have not found any rust on the car.
I bought this beautiful car two years ago planning to show her and have fun with her for a long time, but I'm too busy to really enjoy the car. Also, my wife and I are now empty nesters and are selling our house in the Boston suburbs, moving to the Back Bay area of Boston. Garages are scarce in the Back Bay.
I'm going to hate to see her go, but when the house sells we'll have no place to put her. This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of automotive history that you will have loads of fun with.
Go for it!
