Offered For Sale by The California Automobile Museum 1930 DeSoto CK Phaeton from the 1991 Great Race We Offer Financing This DeSoto was in the 1991 Great American Race from Norfolk, Virgina to Seattle, Washington. It is still equipped as it ran in that race with the proper gauges and instrumentation. Speedometer/odometer is missing. It’s rumored that Richard Petty spent a lot of time looking at it (#43) at one of the race stops. Exterior: Beautiful Red and Black paint, right rear quarter panel... shows paint chipping from the top not being secured properly during the race. Paint shows well but has expected small chips from use. No dents or rust. Chrome is in very nice condition. The top is in good condition, no tears, but shows some staining from age. Side curtains are included with the car. Wood spoke wheels. Interior: In good condition, includes additional gauges and switches used during the race. Motor: 174.9 cubic inch inline six runs strong. The DeSoto Phaeton is a great antique car, standing out from the crowd of Fords and Chevrolets. Add in its Great Race lineage and you have a unique car with a back story! Original program from the 1991 Great American Race is included for documentation.
