This car is part of the Allen H. Dieringer estate collection. We will be selling multiple vehicles in the coming weeks. Please visit dieringercollection.com to register for email updates as new listings become available.
NOTE: We are NOT a motor vehicle dealer. This is a liquidation of an estate and our top priority is to get the highest price possible. We will not consider any trades, any cash offers outside of the ebay auction, nor can we assist with financing. If you have specific questions, I will do my best to get an answer, but due to the nature of this being an estate sale, full history and details of every vehicle may not be available to us. Please review my 20 year ebay rating and bid with confidence. If anything, I’ll be guilty of under describing these cars. All vehicles are located in Yoakum, TX and may be seen by appointment during the auction. The vehicles you buy will be made available for easy pickup by your shipper. I will mostly answer emails in the evenings after work, so be patient. I will respond to everyone.
This is a driver quality 1956 DeSoto Sportsman Fireflite. I tried to take photos in the shade and sun to give a clear picture of the paint quality. It looks great from about 20 feet, but does have some imperfections, and probably some rusted areas repaired and/or painted over. The car cranked easily after removing it from storage in April. I cranked it again today with no trouble. The engine and transmission are Chevrolet 350/350 and the ad-on A/C is working nicely. I drove it a few blocks today and noted these items: brakes are soft and pull to the right, engine runs and sounds good, but needs tune-up/carb work to idle properly. The transmission shifts, but maybe a bit late into 2nd. This car could be great fun, but understand it needs some TLC. After sitting for at least 4 years untouched, it stands up nicely, but it's going to be a bit of a project to fully enjoy it. High points: all power windows work, AC works, engine is strong, interior is nice and it's a great looking body style.
All sales are final and you will have 24 hours from end of the auction to send a $1,000.00, non-refundable deposit via PayPal, with balance to be paid in cash, in person, or by bank wire transfer at your expense within 7 days of auction end. You will have 30 days to pick up your purchase in Yoakum. Please message for potential alternate payment options. Bidders with ebay ratings below +10 are subject to removal without prior approval. There will be a modest reserve on all vehicles we list for sale, but we intend to sell, so bid early and often with confidence, but be sure to ask your wife first! Message me with further questions. Thank you and good luck!
