1957 DeSoto Adventurer Additional Info:
For sale is a 1957 Desoto Adventurer. One of 1650 built and around 100 known to exist. Complete carwith very nice chrome. Car runs, shifts, and stops very good. Car is currently powered by a S-25 341with correct carburetors and air cleaners. Included in the sale is a S-26 345 correct, unstuck (turns) completefrom carburetors to pan. Drivers side power window works with some help but the entire systemwould need service. Wipers work and cycle. All gauges work. This car was painted, upholstered, and engine sourced in the 1980's by the second owner. The frontseat is not correct and I will include a 60-40 seat frame. All correct seat, dash, headliner, with the exceptionof carpet is available. Original body color was white and gold. This car spent some time from the east coast (Pennsylvania) and will need some repair underneathat some point. The frame is solid. Inner rockers toward the rear wheels and an area under driversfront seat will need some work. Same for the trunk floor and drop offs. Will need a patch (pictured) onthe left behind firewall. All sheet metal is currently available by Real steel replacements and their products are very impressive. The Fireflite and Adventurer is a design that Virgil Exner just nailed it. Few cars from this era compare in designand performance. If you have any questions, ask for Mike at 541-643-8151 or email. Shipping of car and engine are the buyers responsibility.
