1983 DeLorean DMC-12 Additional Info:

Thanks for looking at my listing. This is my 1983 DMC-12 DeLorean. It’s an August 82 build with an automatic transmission, flat hood and black interior. I bought this car with the idea of putting it up for rent on Turo, but… well, plans changed and that’s why I need to sell it.

This car has spent all of its life in Arizona, so there’s no rust on the frame. I’m the second owner and bought it in Los Angeles a bit over a year ago - It passed smog and inspection with flying colors. It has a clean title, and to the best of my knowledge it’s never been in an accident.

The first owner took REALLY good care of this car, and spent a ton of money to keep it on the road. I have a HUGE binder with receipts for well over 90 thousand dollars, as well as other documents as the original car warranty issued by Consolidated, newspaper clippings featuring her and the car… she even saved speeding tickets she got while driving this Delorean. I continued filling up the binder with receipts and photos as well. Luckily I didn’t get any speeding tickets with it yet.

I’ve been putting a ton of love and money in this car over the last year. It is a turn-key daily driver example, and I DO drive it as much as I can so please note, the mileage will be higher than the one you see on the clock. The power steering makes a HUGE difference when driving (and specially PARKING) this car. Needless to say, it has never left me stranded.

Please note, the vanity plates pictured on the car will NOT be included.

Now, is this car an absolutely PERFECT concours example? Definitely not. But you’ll have a hard time finding a car with as much DOCUMENTED work done to this one. I can say in good conscience that the car has been extremely well maintained and updated.

Now, for the things it needs: I was planning on installing a rearview mirror dashcam, especially since the headliners could use a refresh (you probably saw that stain), as well as a “sto and sho” front license plate holder, as I didn’t want to drill holes on the front fascia. I’m not going to be doing it anymore, but I will include the dashcam and the plate holder for the next owner to install. The door light switches will be included as well (previous owner removed them for some reason). Also, the inside trim pieces that go on the sides of the windshield could use some attention.

The stainless panels are in good shape - no huge dents or scratches. I’ll include a couple of blending pads for the next owner to refinish ‘em if desired.

I've done my best to describe the flaws on this car, so you know EXACTLY what you're getting before coming to check the car out. I know from experience how frustrating is going to see a car only to discover tons of stuff that was conveniently hidden by the lister. That being said, please don't use this list as leverage to lowball me.

I encourage you to bring a mechanic to check the car in person.

I would love to have access to a lift, but unfortunately I don't. That being said, there's no rust on the frame. The car has been on a lift at DMC a couple of months ago and the frame was fine.

I’ve spent a lot of time describing every detail possible about this car, being as honest and straightforward as possible with it. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask.
The car is available for test driving in the city of Glendale, California.

Please, no tire-kickers. Only contact me if you’re truly interested in buying the car. Also - I know pretty much every scam in the book, so don’t waste your time or mine, the title and car will be surrendered ONLY after the money hits my account.

Stay safe out there!
