GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this like-new, extremely low mileage, 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 for your consideration. This DMC-12 comes to us straight out of a local Museum and is suiting its all original Stainless Steel exterior with Black Textured Stripes over its original Gray interior. Powering this DeLorean is the 2.85 Liter V6 paired with an automatic transmission. A ton of recent maintenance and refreshing has been done to the vehicle before it was displayed at the 2021 Concours d'Elegance of America in Plymouth, MI. Some of the recent work includes; fluid changes, rebuilds of the fuel distributor, control pressure regulator, fuel injectors, replacement of the alternator, fuel tank, fuel pump, battery, frequency valve, fuel accumulator, compressor pulley bearings, spark plugs, gaskets, filters, and hoses. This Classic comes with some great features such as; gull-wing doors, power brakes, power mirrors, power windows, leather seats, AM/FM radio with cassette player, dealer-installed cruise control, and the original window sticker. Drive this one out of our showroom or have us assist with shipping it to you anywhere in the United States! Don't hesitate to give us a call with any questions or for more information.
The DMC DeLorean is a rear-engine two-passenger sports car manufactured and marketed by John DeLorean's DeLorean Motor Company (DMC) for the American market from 1981 until 1983-ultimately the only car brought to market by the fledgling company. The DeLorean is sometimes referred to by its internal DMC pre-production designation, DMC-12. However, the DMC-12 name was never used in sales or marketing materials for the production model. With the first production car completed on January 21, 1981, the design incorporated numerous minor revisions to the hood, wheels, and interior before production ended in late December 1982, shortly after DMC filed for bankruptcy and after total production reached about 9,000 units. Despite the car having a reputation for poor build quality and an unsatisfactory driving experience, the DeLorean continues to have a strong following driven in part by the popularity of Back to the Future.
