You know the car. Quirky and unique from the start, it's role in the Back to the Future series made it a pop culture icon. No Flux Capacitor here, so the combination of 1.21 jigawatts and hitting 88mph won't take you back in time, or send you to the future. It will however get loads of attention and look great parked in your garage. Great Scott! This car is in great condition throughout, it's clear that this car has been well cared for over the years. It's only traveled 24,679 miles in its 39 years since leaving the factory in Northern Ireland. Originally purchased in Colorado and spending the last 14 years in California.
The all stainless steel body is in great condition on this car and the simple lines, louvers, and wedge shape are unmistakable. The car was penned by Giorgetto Guigiario of ItalDesign, and bares resemblance to the Volkswagen Scirocco which was also designed by Guigiario.
Inside the car is a clean, stock interior - black bucket seats, carpeting, dashboard, door panels, and trim is in great condition especially for a car of this age. Power windows, power locks, tilt steering wheel, AM/FM/Cassette stereo, and an electric rear window defroster are other notable features inside the car.
This DeLorean is powered by the factory power plant which is a Peugeot/Renault/Volvo 2.85 Liter V6 mated to an automatic transmission. The engine was rated at 130 horsepower, which is less than you would expect from a car like this. But its not about speed - its about style. The gullwing doors are not noticeable at first, but once open give a whole different character to this collectible car. The gullwing doors are just one of the many design features on this car that add a cool factor.
This particular Delorean won't take you back in time so you can try and change the past - or the future, but it will most definitely put a smile on the face of anyone who sees it. Make sure that you're up on your Back to the Future trivia, movie buffs will want to hear what you know. Be sure to check out all the photos and video on our main website: Garage Kept Motors.
