The DeLorean DMC-12 is part of the rare fraternity where an exotic car made with exotic materials actually hit the road. So when you can get a low-mileage, well-preserved example that has only been owned by one person, then it's time to take notice. The DMC-12 was the dream of one man come to life. While that usually means John DeLorean, in this case, it's this car's one and only owner. After all, it show this classic has been only... used on special occasions when it has barely averaged over 225 miles annually. And while the body is made out of stainless steel for easy care, you can tell by the grain in the material that this one has always been cared for correctly. There's just something special about the gullwing doors and the combination of black and silver that makes these absolutely iconic - well beyond its time machine notoriety. So you'll love to see that details are correct on this survivor. From the turbine-style wheels, to the grooved hood, to the rear slats that complete the fastback profile - it's all part of a distinct and memorable total package. Inside is a well-preserved gray leather cockpit designed around the driver. You get a comfy bucket seat, a grippy three-spoke sports steering, wheel and this gives you a terrific view of the full gauge package. The high center tunnel gives you an easy place to grab the stick shift (a sought-after feature on these DeLoreans.) Plus, as a true grand touring machine, it comes with plenty of comfortable features like power windows, tilt steering column, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, and factory air conditioning that's still blowing nice and cold. In the rear you'll find a well preserved engine bay with plenty of original DMC decals. But more than just survivor quality, the original motor has been well maintained. While the DMC-12 was only in production for a few short years, the fuel-injected 2.8-liter V6 engine was a mainstay at Peugeot, Renault, and Volvo. So this car offers limited-run rarity while retaining easy parts availability. This was not always the fastest sports car around, but that was also not the point of the DeLorean. The chassis was developed at Lotus, and so they gave it a lightweight feeling, nimble fully-independent suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes. And the five-speed manual transmission is a great feature to take control and truly get the European-inspired driving experience. That makes it quite a fun car to drive. Such a nicely respected one-owner machine like this also comes with a ton of documentation and extras. It includes the original window sticker, dealer invoice, owner's manual, service manual, maintenance records, and plenty more (call for all the details.) These have a large fan base, and a great dealer network (yes, there still are dealers!) So you get all the fun of an exotic classic and the support of a full community. Call today!!!
