1977 Datsun Other King Cab 620 Additional Info:

1977 Datsun 620 King Cab Custom Mini Truck Flash Back from the 70’s offered by Gas Monkey Garage with . ! The road goes on forever and the party never ends in this Datsun King-Cab 620 Pickup. It’s the real-deal, an unrestored original West Coast mini truck built in 1977 by Kolor Me Kustom's Vini "Big Daddy" Bergeman, the godfather of the custom van and mini truck movement in Southern California in the 1970s. It was taken to Bergeman to transform this truck into what became SoCal's most famous Datsun mini truck of the era. Original features include all-steel flares, a Monza front end, bubble side windows, air dam, rear rolled pan, hood louvers, swivel seats, Tru-Spoke wire wheels, Craig 8-track and frenched antenna. This truck still wears its original custom 6-tone and California fade paint from 1977, original custom tufted interior, hi-rise custom bed topper with cab/bed pass-through that was popular in the mini-truck world of the era. The original owner was the founder of the Southern California Mini-Truck Council truck club, which just celebrated its 40th anniversary this year. It has 79,000 miles and still retains its original California pink slip. It also has the unused spare tire, jack tools, original books and warranty manual from new. The truck was put in climate-controlled storage in 1992 after being on the show circuit since 1977. It saw a 25-year hiatus until it was discovered this past year, brought into the light of day and featured at a few shows. It has brand-new BFG radial T/A tires. 2,200cc 4-cylinder engine with 4-speed manual transmission. This truck runs and drives well with the original drivetrain still in fairly unmolested condition (an aluminum radiator and plug wires look to be obvious new non-OEM additions). The interior is in really well preserved condition having been retired from the show circuit some 25 years ago and having been properly cared for in a climate controlled warehouse. The paint also benefitted from this spa like treatment retaining the gloss and brilliance that really setsthis show truck apart from the herd with some minor chips present! (see all pics ) Underside pics reveal a solid chassis with well-preserved components present. This truck does run and drive but it should be completely serviced prior to any extended driving to ensure safety and reliability. (And due to our filming schedule, we can’t perform any additional work on this truck or build it for you) Sold as is/where is!
