1974 Datsun Other Additional Info:
This is a very rare find of an increasingly popular collector pickup. These little 620 Datsun pickups have gained popularity over the past decade or so and as a result are getting harder and harder to find, especially in this condition. Most of these trucks have been heavily modified or are rusted out or both. This truck is in fantastic condition for a 42 year old unrestored truck. I know most of the history of the truck as it spent all of it's life in Southern Arizona just outside of Yuma. There were two previous owners before I bought it and the second owners were Canadian snow birds that would winter there in Yuma. They would use it literally as a grocery getter during the three months of the year that they were here in Arizona. I purchased the truck about two years ago. It was not in great shape at the time I got it as the right front fender was kind of rough and the original blue paint was heavily coated with a white chalky substance. When I was looking at it I took my finger and rubbed a small area on the fender and the white chalky substance came off revealing very well preserved original paint underneath. It didn't have any brakes which is really why the elderly owners were selling it because they couldn't work on the truck to get it back on the road. I got the truck home and replaced the master cylinder and the brakes worked great. I buffed the truck by hand and the original paint really came to life. The seat was shot so I had it completely rebuilt and covered in a nice material that is very comfortable yet durable. Because I'm a purist and I rarely buy a vehicle that needs any body work or paint I had a tough decision to make on the fender. I could either leave it and the truck would look okay or replace it but that would mean the truck would have to be partially painted. I ended up purchasing a parts truck that had a very nice OEM fender and I took it to a guy who I knew did great quality work and he replaced the fender and matched the color perfectly. You cannot tell that the fender was not original to this truck. It was shot off the truck both inside and outside of the sheet metal and then reassembled. I had him do it this way so there would be no overspray anywhere on the truck. He did have to blend the color slightly into the hood and the door. I also had him re-shoot the inside of the tailgate as something had spilled at sometime on the inside of the tailgate and ate the original paint down to the metal. The outside of the tailgate and the rest of the truck remains in it's original paint and it looks very good for a truck of this vintage. Mechanically the truck runs good. It starts right up and drives nicely. The little L18 engine runs strong! During the years I've owned it I just putt around town with it from time to time. I've never had it on the freeway or anything like that but I think it would do fine. It could be a daily driver in my opinion and has no known mechanical issues. I was told by the second owner that the mileage is original and that the odometer has not rolled over. The condition of the truck supports the low mileage but I have no documentation to prove it. The truck is rust-free. There is some surface rust on the frame and undercarriage consistent with a 42 year-old truck but no scale or heavy corrosion of any significance. All glass is in good shape and windows go up and down as they should and both doors lock as they should. All lights and lenses are clear and in great shape. Tires have plenty of tread but I'm not sure how old they are. The original spare tire is still there and looks to be in good shape. Everything works inside including heater, horn, all dash lights and indicators, all instruments including the tach and speedo and yes even the original radio works and sounds great! If the new owner wants the shell I will bolt it back on but it has been off the truck for awhile now as I prefer it that way. The shell was on the truck it's whole life according to the previous owners. Also comes with the step bumper pictured in some of the pictures but that is also currently off the truck, again just due to preference. In summary, the truck is in great, mostly original condition. It is not restored but has been cleaned up and left as original as possible. It could easily be taken to the next level or just left as it is. The truck gets plenty of attention EVERY time I take it out. It's a blast to drive and I think any Datsun enthusiast would be proud to own it. These little 620 pickups are just going to keep going up in value and so they make a great investment. Take a look at the pictures and my feedback and bid with confidence. Due to the age of the truck it is being sold "as is" with no warranties expressed or implied. I do reserve the right to end the auction early as I may be using other media to try and sell the truck so it could sell at anytime. If you have ANY questions please ask BEFORE bidding. I do require a $500 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of the end of the auction with the balance due within 7 days of the auction's close.

Any zero feedback bidders must contact me prior to bidding or your bid will be deleted. This is due to the fact that I have had auctions ruined by bidders who do not take eBay seriously and are out to just play around with other peoples auctions while never really intending to follow through with the purchase. I apologize for not including this requirement in the initial ad posting but I simply forgot. Thanks for understanding.
