1977 Datsun Z-Series Additional Info:
Datsun Z-Series. I’m selling a 1977 280Z that was stored in a barn for the last 32 years. The previous owner drove the car to the barn with the intent of fixing the rust spots and never got around to finishing the work. He intended on replacing the two fenders and fixing the quarters. He removed the emblems and started sanding different areas around the car which have since become surface rust. As you can see from the pictures, the salty northeast roads were not kind to this car. I tried to be as transparent as possible with the pictures and if there are any angles you want to see, let me know. I took a lot more pictures than I was able to post so I may have what you’re looking for. The only thing I did to this car besides drag it out of the barn and bring it to my house, was to connect a good battery and see what worked. I did not try and start it. (The oil on the dipstick is dirty but not contaminated with water or anything). I tested the headlights, taillights, signals, and radio. Everything worked except the radio. Even the door buzzer worked. The interior of this car is dirty, moldy and smells like mice but overall great condition with an un cracked dash. The interior door panels are excellent with very little wear. The seats were protected by sheepskin covers and are in great shape except for the mold. It even has the original tool kit and air tank for filling tires. The car rolls freely and the brakes work. All of the tires hold air except a slow leak in the left front. The tires were new in 1988. All of the emblems are there and the owners manual is there but half eaten by mice. My intent was to use it as a parts car but I think I will use the money from the sale to put into a different car for my son. If the car doesn’t meet the reserve ($2500), I will clean it and detail the interior, get it running and sell it as a running, driving car. If you’re looking for a true barn find car (not many left), this may be for you. The winning bidder will also receive a radio from a 1977 280Z (to replace the one in this car which is not original), and the gas pump you see in the pictures.

There must have been a glitch when I tried to update the description. It’s supposed to say that I put a socket and breaker bar on the crank bolt mdr it turned freely.
