1964 Datsun Other Additional Info:
Up for your consideration is this 1964 Datsun NL 320 unibody sport truck and is number 420 of 1000 imported to the US. As the pictures show this is a project. The little truck does currently sputter to life when fuel is poured into the carburetor, but will need additional attention to the engine, fuel, and hydraulics - it's a project. Odometer reads 59002 and may or may not be accurate.
From what I know this NL spent some time in Arkansas, before going out to Washington state, and then here to Kansas. I'm pretty sure the previous two owners and I have had nothing to do why the bed is rough, the lowered stance, or invested, installed, and removed a rear air shocks system (yes, their are hints of an air suspension system underneath). Also pretty sure that this truck has spent the latter part of its life - 20 years+ or so - in its current condition - tarped up, inside, and towards the back of a garage. I have install the engine with a new clutch release bearing/throw out bearing and sourced the correct front right fender with the cut out for the "pie" turn signal.
RUST - From what I can tell rust is localized to the cab floor, especially on the passenger side along the seam between the passenger floor pan and the transmission tunnel. Otherwise there is no rust on the inner or outer rockers, bottom of doors, battery tray area or bottom of from fenders where they meet the front rocker panel.
Completeness - the truck is mostly complete with many hard to find items included. NOT included is the behind the seat fiber board shelf, floor mat, fender mirror(s), OE type steelie rims and hubcaps, driver side 2x piece aluminum threshold trim, and tools. No additional new or original parts are included beyond what you see in the pics. If you have a specific question on whether a part is present or included, please ask and I will get back with you.
Front glass is cracked on the lower right passenger side, but does not obstruct the drivers view. Sorry I do not have and extra front glass. All other glass is original/in place and the locking mechanism for both quarter glasses are present.
Engine - is a correct E1 and is a later MK IV engine (serial number E1 563359) with upright/bolt on oil filter and 13 teeth/gears for the distributor, cam, and oil pump. The engine is not the correct data plate matching serial number - see pic. Engine retains its original POSITIVE Ground generator and Nikki carb with original air cleaner with 2 x brackets.
Transmission is the correct 4 speed on the column with 7 spline 180mm clutch disc and pressure plate. Included in the auction/sale is a smooth case 4-speed floor shift/top loader transmission with 21-spline clutch disc, 200mm flywheel, pressure plate, and correct floor shift transmission cover - good luck finding all of these item at one time let alone in a single actions. Smooth case floor shift transmission is from a '66 Datsun 410 so the gearing is a little more operator friendly at highway speeds. Note as the transmission is from the 410 sedan the rear mounts for the sedan is a mustache bar which is different from the two, left and right, single piece 320 transmission mounts- some machining is required - can send pic.
Title - Yes, will send title once I get it from KS DMV as the truck was recently inspected (06/14/19) with "no reported loss" - so it will be a clean title - no salvage, rebuilder, or off-road title. Bill of Sale at end of auction is also included. Can send pic of Title Application for truck.
Pics - please ask if you would like additional pics and I send them your way.
Shipping - Shipping is responsibility of the buyer - I can and will help load vehicle. Note the truck has a narrow track - 47" inside to 52" outside, so may be too narrow for some transport trailers. MAKE SURE your shipping knows this or has a way to load a narrow vehicle without splitting the tires down the center on the ramp rails.
Payment - $500 is due within 48hours of the end of auction with full payment made within 7-working days. Instruction to follow at end of auction. Vehicle will be released once all funds have been received and cleared my financial institute. Only at this time vehicle will be released for shipment.
