What you have in front of you is a Spectacular Survivor/Preservation class1972 Datsun 240z! As told to us "One Family Southern California Car" (Parents to Son transfer). The Z wears itsoriginal Lime color which wasresprayed sometimeago in its life. All original Glass bumpers and trim. original single driver door mirror. She also wear those ever so desirable period correct slot US Mags - Even the spare is a Us Mag - yes even the spare! Ohcan't forget those period correct first issue California Blue Plates. If you dont know; In California the Plates stayed with the car its entire life. Dealer installed period correct stainless steel lower rocker trim. All theturn signals and lights work properly. Bone Dry southern California Car
On this inside she wear her all original black interior, the only item thathasn't survived its 46 years of life is the drivers seat. Recovered sometime ago to try and match the passenger seat. original steering wheel with the original horn button which is extremely hard to find. All of thegauges work properly and yes even the clock works. Wow! I know; usually the clocks stop working first. Factory AC blows cold. The factory original Hitachi radio and power antenna work. All theinterior and dimmer lights work properly. Look at that clean center console and yes the choke still functions. The dash could use anice dash cap orif you wanted an the original dash repaired there is a local company who does them for roughly 1000-1500. Owner's manual is also included in this highly collectable example of an original 240z
1972 was the last year of the Hitachi carburetors which provides more power to the engine.this 2.4 gets right with it and feels great! The Suspensions and brakes feel great. Tires are in good condition.
Ive driven this 240Z quite a bit and the first thing the naysayers are going to say "yeah but its an automatic". Ive had a blast in this little car and have grown to enjoy the automatic with AC especially where we live. If you have your heart set on a manual it is an easy conversion - lets face it where are going to find a Z-car in this condition. Bone Dry Socal Car! Who would have thought that it would become more and more difficult to find a 240Z in this condition? - Very nice example.
