1978 Datsun Z-Series Coupe 2+2 Additional Info:
You are looking at a rare example of a 1978 California Datsun 280Z 2+2 5 speed. She was undercoated when new, and has no rust, that means none in lower quarters, gas fill, rear hatch, or other common areas. She is all original except for dealer installed sunroof, after market headlight covers, mud guards, bra and car cover. Still has the original am/fm radio, Z hubcaps, power antenna, owners manual, starting instructions, Z-key, space saver spare tire, tool kit, tire inflator...everything works, including the clock. Interior is in excellent original condition with a cover over the dash that does not have any cracks. I searched for a long time for an original Z, and these cars are getting harder and harder to find in this original unmolested condition! She comes with chilton's repair manual, a stack of receipts for all maintenance from second owner through myself, as well as a typewritten bill of a sale from first to second owner in 1980. The only negative on this vehicle is she was stored with the bra on for an extended time, and she does have some fade and paint bubbling on the front of hood(please see pic). I did not want to paint hood, so just keep the bra on whenever I take her out. I have replaced/repaired the following in last three years, as well as regular oil and filter changes: 1)Thermo time switch 2)Cold start injector 3)Adjusted timing as per specs 4)Brakes and rotors front 5)Clutch master & slave cylinder 6)New Radiator 7)New battery 8)Water temp sensor 9)Thermostat/gasket 10)Distributor cap/rotor/spark plugs/wires 11)Rear wheels cylinders(2) 12)Fuel pressure regulator 13)New air flow mass sensor box 14)Clean fuel injectors & replace assorted vacuum lines.
I will gladly email more pics or answer any questions ...she runs great and gets plenty of attention every time I take her out...everyone has a Z story!
