I am assisting my neighbor is the sale of this car. He acquired it in 2013. The car was located in the South West until 2013. The car has no rust in the floor pans and undercarriage. The underside of the car has never been heavily undercoated. There are some small dents in the front valance and edge of rocker panel from a jack being applied improperly at some time. None of these small dent are visible except when the car is on a lift. The body is straight and was repainted some time ago in a Metallic Green. There is evidence of some paint lifting in the passenger rear wheel arch area behind the tire. The painter did not cut in door jambs-rear window jambs or inner edges ofunder hood and engine bay. The car met Arizona emission standards in 2013.
The engine starts well with no strange noises and the 4 speed transmission shiftsnicely and the entire driveline appears to pull well with no excessive vibration or noise. This car features factory Air Conditioning which is now working after the present owner had the HVAC system overhauled. Recent work on the car includes:
Replacement alternator, new heater core, hoses, thermostatic control valve, radiator, cap, rear wheel cylinders and brakes-at a cost of $5200.00
The tires on the car have approximately 10% remaining tread and should be replaced. The interior seats have been fitted with a non original replacement fabric which is very presentable. The door weather strip molding is intact but is well worn. All lights appear to work . Car isequipped with an aftermarket radio.
Overall this is a very solid example of this model Datsun. So many of these cars in the Northeast are literally rust buckets. My neighbor had this car transported out of Arizona in 2013 to avoid the tin worm problem associated with East Cost Cars. The new owner can enjoy this car as is or start restoring it to the next level. Car is located 20 miles west of Washington DC. present owner has spent $5300.00 in repairing and upgrading the automobile. Speedometer just recently turned over 100K-however title states car has 170K miles. Please forward any questions to Nick Arrington at 703-966-8422. Car must be paid for in full within 7 days of auction conclusion and removed within 10 days of auction conclusion. Car is sold as is where is wit no warranty or guarantee expressed or implied.
