1973 Datsun Z-Series Fairlady Additional Info:

1973 Datsun 240Z
2 seater coupe
Az car

Original Tucson Car, comes with lots of provenance
including Original window stick - sold here in Tucson at
Thoroughbred Car back in 1973
Matching #s all original like the day it came off the assembly
line in Japan. It was then put on a boat, unloaded at the
docks in LA CALIF, and sent by truck to Tucson Az....and sold.
Its pretty much been here in the desert climate ever since.
Car is one of the last 240z's to come off the assembly line
being built 5 of 73. It was the end of an era.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
1973 Datsun 240z that was last registered over 15 yrs ago. It
was parked many yrs ago and kinda forgotten about. The desert
climate took its toll on the rubber and plastic and the car got
very dusty both inside out. Ive been cleaning it up for the last
few days and there is still lots of az dirt in places it shouldnt be.
Honestly, I think a nice way to restore it would be to dissasemble
much of the car, clean what you can and replace what needs to
be and make it a nice clean original driver. Paperwork shown below
proves all of our claims to be an original Tucson car and then some.
We hooked up a e fuel pump to a small gas can under the hood
and cranked it a few times and it fired up. Motor sounded good.
A little loud (car has an old header on it) and there is Nothing past
the header. After a few minutes one of the carbs started leaking
due to what may be a stuck float. So we shut it down. Ive not tried
to run it since. I know the original matching #s motor is fine.
Dealer installed A/C is pretty rare and looks to be complete too.

DONT BID UNLESS YOU HAVE THE FUNDS IN HAND, apparently some people
who use ebay arent smart enough to understand the rules.
So if you have under 10 feedbacks, Ill be emailing you if you bid to
make sure you are legit, if we do please reply or we will cancel your bid.
Up for Auction: LOW FAIR RESERVE !!!
These cars are getting harder to find esp in this condition
that are still affordable to most buyers.

DRIVETRAIN: the motor is the original 2400 matching #s engine
and probably the original trans too. As mentioned before, the motor is
good, just not driveable at the moment. 4 spd trans and rearend are good.
This is a great awesome car to restore. All the correct boxes checked, dont
miss your chance to win it ! Cranks with the key no problem. Rebuild the
carbs, clean out the fuel system and tank and you could probably drive it.

EXTERIOR: you are looking at a car that has had 1 repaint (original color)
back in the early 90s. NO signs of any rust or previous accident repairs any
where from front to back. Paint looks a little thick behind the LF headlight on
top of the fender, thats it. The pop open sunroof I think was a dealer installed
option. Tucson back in the 70s was sun roof capital, everyone wanted to let the
sun in. Bumpers are in great shape for their age as is the chrome. All the
glass is in good nick and the factory rear window louvers in really nice shape.
really really old window tint on the glass looks like crap

INTERIOR: Tucson has baked the interior pretty well, but luckily
most of it all is still there, the important stuff anyways.
Making having to track stuff down less of a chore. Under the carpets are
the original floors. PS front area has a rot hole not to huge. It developed from
many yrs from the inside out (possibly from a leaky heater core 20 yrs ago)
and moisture trapped in the padding. The inside rockers have some minor
flaking, but I scrapped most of it off banging on it and they are super solid.
Rear hatch strut still works, spare and original radio missing. Drivers seat
feels like its not bolted in all the way.
SUSPENSION:the suspension looks normal from what I can see .. but old.
Works okay as is, and well kept up,. but its a 40+ yr old car, it may need
shocks or bushings in the future. No mods at least. Its dirty and a light film of
dirt covered most of it for yrs. Could possibly use as is, or maybe text it to the
next step.
Even under the car, its very Minimal rust under the car, making taking this car apart,
almost a breeze !!

There you have it, probably The BEST represented 240s on Ebay.

Shows you all the good as well as any bad, hope you appreciate them.
We put a lot of time and effort in marketing our cars and it shows.
People wait months for a car this solid to come up for sale
and even if you have to pay shipping to your area, it still beats
paying a body shop to hopefully fix a rusty car for weeks on end.
Having as much as the original steel on a restored car these days
speaks volumes.
Also, if you buy a car thats been "restored", who knows what sort
of surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating.
People are flipping cars all the time when most of the jobs are
fast, for a quick buck and quality suffers.

Email us with ANY questions before you bid please
Our Impeccable FEEDBACK speaks for itself. We show you as
much feasibly possible via pics.
Dont let auctions withlittle to no pics try to fool you.
If they cant take the time to take pics of areas under the car they
are selling, maybe its not the best car to buy long distance.
With other auctions, you really dont know what to expect
until you take the car apart. While we go over our cars ALL OVER
with great pics to help making your decision easier.
Along with ANY other questions you may have.
