Very nice original 1972 Datsun 240z
Ready for restoration or daily driver with a little tuning.
I acquired this z about 5 years ago from the central California valley. It had been sitting for 6+ years.
After sitting in my garage for the past 5 years I finally started tinkering with it.
New gas, changed the oil, adjusted valves, new starter, ignition switch, clutch master and slave cylinder.
Started right up drove it around the block, transmission seemed fine as are brakes but it will need some carburetor work and fine tuning to be road worthy, and new tires etc. They hold air but are 10+ years old.
Compression check ranged from 150 to 160 on all cylinders
It is a numbers matching engine. It has had a cheap repaint at some time but it is an original white car.
Upholstery is clean but not original.
All body panels and glass appear to be original and firewall vin matches strut tower and dash vin and as far as I can tell it has never been in an accident
and no bondo present.
Things that need attention are;
Headlights don't work (not sure why, fuses are ok)
Rust in rear quarter panels in front of rear wheels and rear hatch panel ( i will include new patch panels as in pictures)
Also a little rust in floorboards and A pillars as shown in pics.
Struts seemed a little clunky??
Missing one hubcap.
Needs wiper arms but wiper motor works fine as does heater and guages. clock does not work.
Speedometer shows 67,168.
Just got new plates and tags so good to go for a year, California title in my name ready to transfer.
