The 1977 Zap Z is on the top ten collectible list of 280Z's.
This is a rareoriginal1977 Datsun Special Edition 280Z with 81.3K miles. I am the third owner and have owned this car for seven years. The car was Brownsville, Texas for 30 years and moved to Austin, TX 10 years ago.
Datsun called it the "ZZZap Z". Offered only in Bright Sunburst Yellow paint with special decal package, rear window shade and dual racing mirrors and side stripe decals. The Zap Z model was used as the pace car for the 1977 Long Beach Grand Prix.
This is an amazing hard to find collectible survivor 1977 280Z ZAP with a EXTRA SET OF DECALS (you cannot buy these anymore)!
Car has a strong Engine that runs smooth with matching numbers and Automatic Transmission. The car passes Texas inspection every year without a problem.
I chose to keep the car as a "Survivor" withoriginal paint (slight normal fade, please see photos) and decals, but with the extra decals you could make like brand new if you choose. The decals are from a set of 12 made a few years ago by an after market dealer.
Only a few have come to market in the last few years and only a couple with this low mileage and condition. It is a blast to drive in the city and on the highway. Everywhere I drive it someone will come up an start a conversation about how cool it is.
I am selling this car as is and representing it's condition as clearly as I can. If you message me I will send you a current video of the car running and a 360 view around it.
I made a fun video of the MY ACTUAL CAR over audio from a 1977 280Z commercial a few years ago (2013) for you to see the car in action.

Things that I have done to the car in the time I owned it:
Replacement carpet kit. Dual mirrors, Louvre powdered coated 2011. Michelen Z-rated tires excellent condition. Minor body work done on one fender and rear panel and touch up paint to preserve the car. Receipts for all types of maintenance and repairs done last 10 years (most of the work was performed by the renowned Z Clinic in Austin, TX), including but not limited to, new shocks, suspension rubber replaced where needed, carpet kit, brake power booster, master cylinder, new pads, muffler, valves adjusted and redone R12 AC(2013). Body is solid/ original molding. Brand New Battery. Replace AC Compressor (one year ago) and dryer. AC is R12 so blows cold.
Great condition overall. (Rare New set of decals included!) After market AC switch for compressor but did I say? AC BLOWS COLD! Some small areas of paint bubbling on front two fenders and right rear. (Please see photos) . Decals are cracking due to age. Repaired small chip in windshield. Front drivers seat worn/torn where you sit. Needs new front CV boots although they are holding grease. Normal wear for a 40 year old car and strong original engine and transmission with low miles. Small hole in rear bumper (See photos) Area of rust (non structural/treated) near the radiator that looks like it leaked at some point. Floorboards solid. Dash cover (non glued) as dash has small cracks. Clock and Voltage meter stopped. Daily Driver.
In addition:
I have an EXTRA set of matching hubcaps I will include with the car.
The car still has its original spare tire (never used) and jack.
Working AM/FM period radio with original speakers.
Working Power Antenna
TWO Disc with Factory SERVICE MANUAL and COMPLETE SET OF DIAGRAMS OF CAR FROM DEALER (on disc) and a hard copy repair catalog.
