1971 Citroën D Special Additional Info:
This 1970 Citroën D Spécial remained with its first owner until 2016 and then with his daughter through 2018 and then to me.Finished in white with a black roof and interior, the car is powered by a 1.9-liter inline-four paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox. Notable maintenance carried out approximately 11k miles ago, between 2003 and 2005 included an engine rebuild, as well as servicing the clutch, power steering, brakes, and hydropneumatic suspension. This D Spécial is now being offered in Saint Louis, Missouri with an owner’s manual, maintenance booklet, service records, and a clear title.
The D Spécial is part of Citroën’s ID series, which shared the same low-drag bodyshell and independent self-leveling suspension of the DS range. This example is finished in white, and the roof panel was repainted black within the past 15 months. A few chips and nicks are present in the paint, and closeups of the panels, lights, trim, and glass can be viewed in the gallery below. Paint is mostly originaland is in excellent condition. NO RUST.
Braking and steering are power-assisted, though the D-Spécial’s brake hydraulics are less complicated than those utilized by DS-series cars. Steel wheels wear a set of polished covers and comes wrapped in older tires.
The front seats are equipped with headrests, and seam separation is noted in the black upholstery. Closeups of the rear bench, headliner, and door panels are provided in the gallery below. The interioris in excellent originalcondition.
The 1,985cc inline-four was rebuilt in 2005 by a Citroën specialist in the Pacific Northwest.
Maintenance records for the engine rebuild and additional servicing come with the sale A driving video is also available.
