1966 Chrysler Imperial Additional Info:
This 1966 Chrysler Imperial is in Clinton, Minnesota, 56225. After payment is made you can store the car until October 1, 2016 at no charge. It must be picked up by then. You hear about barn finds. This is the real deal. Dad bought this car in 1974 in Missouri and drove it here to Minnesota. That was 42 years ago. He didn't license it until 1983. In 1983 he licensed it in Oregon, where Mom and Dad had their second home. But he never drove it to Oregon or anywhere else. The car has never left the farm since it was purchased and was stored as part of a car collection. So the title is an Oregon title. We started the engine every year. The VIN is YM27J63252759 and the odometer reads 24,005.Last fall, October, 2015, we drove the car out of the shed, ran it for a couple of hours and washed the dirt off the outside, and took some photos and a video. The interior still has 42 years of barn dust. We didn't even start to wipe down the leather or clean the interior. It's as is. The car has no brakes. We think the power brake booster leaks brake fluid into the intake manifold. The electric windows don't seem to respond, but we didn't spend any time with them and we haven't tried to lower the top. We wanted to lower the top for photos, because the lines of this car with the top down are so awesome. But it's been so many years, we decided against it. You'll have to use your imagination... The trunk and hood close properly, even though in the photos we have them both slightly open. There's an extra rear bumper which is probably the original. Also, there are some chrome parts in the trunk. In October, 2015, without brakes, we carefully drove the car back in.Then in May of 2016, while still in the quonset, we put the hubcaps on, ran the car for another hour, and took some more photos and a video. The 440 cubic inch, 350 horsepower engine still roars. Local pick-up. Payment by Paypal or Bank to Bank wire only. You pay for your bank, I'll pay for mine. Payment must be made within 3 days of the end of the auction. Be sure to watch the video of this 1966 Chrysler Imperial below, to hear and see it running.
