For sale is exceptionally rare and nice condition 1960 Imperial Crown 2 door hardtop with only 28767 original miles.This Imperial was bought from Santa Barbara CA in 2022 after it was sold on estate sale of the original owner who bought it brand new back in 1960 in Ventura CA. This was a true barn find as it gets. Last time it was registered was in 1978 until was found in 2022. Imperial sat in the barn storage for 44 years waiting to see a day light again. Articles were written about it when it was found.
Body condition of this well preserved Imperial is in great shape, there is absolutely no rust anywhere.Body paint was done in 2024, body parts were taken apart completely and body was sanded down primed and painted in same original color. I have photos from before paint was done. There was no holes or rust just faded paint that needed to be brighten up. Bright work was redone on certain parts that needed attention, rest was left original. Brake lines and brakes were replaced car stops as designed. Interior is completely original as it came from factory, front seats swivel as they are designed to do so, even that green floor mat is original to the car.All glass is original. Engine is original 413 ci 350 HP starts and runs perfectly smooth, carburetor was replaced because old one was not running smooth anymore, but old carb and air cleaner housing is still here.Transmission is button shift original and shifts smooth. Power steering is butter soft, power windows work up and down no issues, wing window on driver side opens and closes, passenger side wing window motor needs attention, i was told could be rebuilt.Center drive shaft bearing was replaced 8 months ago. Gas tank was taken down and cleaned.This is factory Air Conditioned car with all AC components still attached. AC compressor turns on and pumps, fan motor in the cabin need to be pulled out and rebuilt in order to get AC going. Tires are 3 year old with 400 miles on them.
This is not a frame off restoration or any major restoration at all. Just a nice professional paint job and everything else is original as it come from factory. This Imperial runs and drives down the road incredibly nice and smooth, steering is straight as an arrow.You can't go anywhere without people asking what is that, simply never seen one anywhere, and most never even heard of it. Any car show you go there is 10 bel airs, chevy's, cadillac's but there is always only one imperial, specially nice one like this.This being 2door hardtop imperial makes it a lot more rare then 4 door which is often available. No center post with windows down give it a lot nicer look and boosts a wild factor. This is a rare specimen of an era that's long gone and never coming back.
