Vehicle Details

Offered here is the first 1 of 2 specially designed Chrysler Camera Cars built by Chrysler, this was the first one made in1947 for Howard Hughes by the Chrysler Special Car Order Department built specifically for film production. The second one built in 1950 also for Howard Hughes was in the Petersen museum until sold recently. The first few pics were as presented by Chrysler when new with different paint scheme on right and left from their archives. This was designed with dual controls on driver and passenger side with a rear window that rolled down for easy communication between director and driver, the scaffolding is missing with base still there as seen in Chrysler archive pics, These innovations set the standard for professional camera vehicles paving the way for the modern custom built film trucks used today.A rare and historically significant vehicle of both cinematic and automotive history that has been in storage for many years as is with a working engine and trans.Belongs in a museum or significant collection, I do Have a folder of more old pictures from the Chrysler archives of the truck while it was being built at the factory in 1947 with all the special details along with the Chrysler Special Car Order Form that came with the vehicle placed folded behind the id plate on the firewall. It is in the book (70 years of Chrysler).it is a one of one vehicle and I am open to offers .
