This 1948 Chrysler Town and Country is an elegant 4 door post-war Woody sedan that has been designated as a "Full Classic" by the Classic Car Club of America (CCCA). With the onset of World War II and United States' entry into the War, American automobile production ground to a halt as America's automakers shifted their lines to assist in the War effort. When the War ended, America's automakers began to restart automobile production; however, they were met with several impediments. First, a nationwide materials shortage persisted and delayed the their ability to build cars after the War. Second, the automakers were not able to retool their lines quickly enough so many American cars from 1946 through 1948 largely resembled their pre-war counterparts.
