Up for auction is this very nice, low mileage '51 Desoto Coupe with original flat head six engine. It starts instantly every time, and no smoking at anytime. It runs, idles smooth and cool. It is an excellent driver. The tranny is a two speed automatic tip-toe. It shifts smoothly. The car has the original sea foam green paint that is very nice with no rust or bubbles. The color makes it look very sharp! The glass is all good with a 5mm crack in the upper middle that does no interfere with drivers visability. It is barely noticible. The windows roll up & down nicely, along with the doors, hood, trunk that all open & close nicely. The interior is very nice original shape. It has nice door panels & headliner. The seats have the original plastic on them and have never been off since new. Both seat areas are like new. This car has nice bumpers, chrome and bright work. The lighted hood ornament is very cool. (see pics) The headlights, gauges-amps, oil, speedo, dash lights, brake lights, blinkers all work good. The gas gauge is not working and could be a ground issue.The pictures show the car with and without the sun visor. I like it with the visor and is on the car now. The brakes work good. This car is 100% solid top to bottom. There are no patch panels or bondo on this car. The rockers, floor pans & trunk are 100% solid. All body mount perches are intact & solid. It has been hard to find cars this age with 100% solid on the underside. It has low 56K original miles & has never seen salt. WWW tires are in good shape. I have been driving this car around the country side lately with no issues at all. It drives and handles like new & a real pleasure to drive. This is a time-capsule car and am sure the new owner will love it. It was a luxury car in its day! The heater work. It has a very iconic grill. It is a sharp car that is priced to sell.
