1966 Chrysler 300 Series 4 Door Hardtop Additional Info:

1966 Chrysler 300 4 Door Hardtop For consignment, we give you large and in charge, from the era of big Detroit iron where status was measured by the inch, this beautiful example of the 1966 Chrysler 300. Coming to our Hallowed Halls in very original survivor condition wearing its consignor stated original and presentable paint, the correct 305hp drivetrain, and its special order New Yorker trunk trim. Take a hard look at this larger than life cruiser, they don't come up often in this condition. Exterior Plenty of Ivory paint covers the straight and true steel slabs that have been formed to create this stylish example of the 300. The gaps are well minded, and paint, being the consignor stated original, has not lost its luster, but does show some wear as well as touched up chip offs and dings. Chrome and badging are all original and all looking good. With its loooooong hood, and 4 door passenger compartment, (more like an apartment), and loooooong trunk, I'm getting ready to move in! Speaking of the trunk, it is sporting the consignor stated special order New Yorker trunk trim, factory jack, felted black liner and black felt covered full size spare tire. A long flat roof presents with block angled B pillars, which was the Mopar style at the time for sedans, and looks just fab as is the plentiful chrome trim around all the windows, trim spear just above the rockers, and all encompassing beltline spear. Within those wheel wells are fantastically preserved tri color and polished 14-inch Chrysler wheel covers with spinner equipped turbine centers and 300 badging wrapped in like new thin whitewall 225/75R14's. Overall, a very nice exterior presentation. Interior A swing of the massive but well-balanced doors and we are greeted with pristine panels that have a mixture of dark blue vinyl, red, white and blue 300 badges in an aluminum field, and some blue carpeting on the lowers. Slipping inside we see a large 70/30 split bench up front with some light blue tuck and roll inserts and smooth vinyl all in a lustrous dark blue. A central armrest can be folded up to provide an extra seat in the front, or to make room for your best girl to snuggle up with you. In the back we see a matching full bench with a mesh grille center speaker high up in the center. A slight tear is noted on the driver's front outer bolster but otherwise the seats front and rear are all good. A long steel dash with dark blue padded top present with an eyebrow bump up for the rounded instrument cluster and more vertical ribbed chrome have all the original and functioning controls. The heater slides along with the factory AM radio are present and accounted for in the middle of the dash and our consignor notes that a hidden Bluetooth stereo is onboard to satisfy your musical tastes. A trio of white face gauges hangs below the dash within a chrome bezel and dark blue carpet is installed and in good condition as is the dark blue headliner above which is nice and tight. Drivetrain A V8 of 383 cubes with hardened valve seats pumps out 305hp and is fed by a single 2-barrel carburetor, sits in a clean but original engine bay. Transmission is a correct A727 Torqueflite 3-speed automatic which sends power back to an 8 3/4" SureGrip rear axle. All looking good in the engine cosmetic department, which screams period correct and has the original radiator rebuilt and recored to a 3 row unit for superior cooling power. Undercarriage Nice straight steel with some surface rusting, good Ivory floor pans, wheel wells, and all clear on the mechanical front are seen underneath. Independent torsion bar upfront, and leaf springs in the rear make up the suspension, and power drum brakes with a new dual reservoir master cylinder, fresh shoes, hardware, soft lines and wheel cylinders are all around. A newer stock style dual exhaust system is now on to handle the exhale from the big V8 up front. Drive-Ability This example started right up and drove nicely as expected with a large car as such. Handling is cushy, and because of its size it will not turn on a dime, but cruises wonderfully, providing a very smooth ride. All functions were working as they should and my crack decoder spent some extra time taking in all the chrome buttons and knobs, which function as they should. Mostly original, well kept, an exterior in fine shape, get in, turn the key and feel those 305 horses take you down the road. What more could you ask for?
