1962 Chrysler New Yorker. The car, the companies top of the line upscale luxury models new features included a elegant new recessed grille and a dipped front bumper. Modern styling of the 1962-1964 models is creating interest with collectors. New unibody construction for the first time and dramatically improved rustproofing makes the car desirable. The New Yorker models sported Rear fender trim bars. An optional trunk lid with an integrated spare wheel cover was popular. A 350-hp, 413-cid V-8 powered the car. 6.8 L. Bore : 4.2 in 106 mm. Stroke : 3.8 in 95 mm. Compression : 10.0:1. Cast - iron Cylinder Block. The new front end carried over from 61’ with slanted headlights, and taillight placement moved to be above the bumper. The trunk lid became ribbed, and more rear fender trim bars were added. An “open mouth grille graced the front. Formal Black code B paint. Nice chrome bumpers and trim. Some rust underneath the door sills and undercarriage is rough. Super straight lines and gaps. Very elegant chrome front wheel well molding that is continuous across the front fender and down to form the rocker panel and repeated on the back wheel well and quarters. A middle of the side view body trim piece points at is horizontally aligned with the wheel well molding trim creates a very symmetrical balanced look. White vinyl interior. Nice vertical stitched split bench seat and matching door panels with 2 accent trim pieces one above and the other below the arm rest. Tinted windshield. Headlight dimmer. Electric clock. “Golden Touch” AM radio. Power windows power steering power brakes. Cruise Control. Dome and Map light. Push button automatic transmission. Tires 8.50 x 14 on steel wheels with very elegant hubcaps. Thick white walls on the tires create a great contrast w the black body paint. Factory correct Thick Spoked knock off like wheels. Thin white walls. This vehicle is either classic, antique, exotic, super rare, or all of the above. This vehicle is on consignment from a very large collection of vehicles.
