1978 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham Additional Info:
This 1978 Chrysler New Yorker was donated to the National Corvette Museum to help raise funds for our collections acquisitions and preservation fund. We know this car is a bit out of the norm for the Corvette Museum, but we appreciate all the support we receive, no matter what size, shape, or form it comes in.
1978 was the last year of the C-Body New Yorker, which would be the last true pillar-less hardtop sedan built in the United States with non-framed door glass and fully opening windows. Here is your chance to own a unique piece of American automotive history.
This New Yorker Brougham, in Wedgewood blue exterior with white padded vinyl top and light blue interior, is in mostly original condition and seems to be in good running condition. The only known issues with the car are with the interior electronic controls, of which some do not work and others work intermittently. It is believed that the corrosion in the fuse panel is the problem with the electrical. The car is powered by the Chrysler 400 c.i. engine.Exterior paint is in good condition for the most part. There is evidence of body work on the rear quarter panels, however we do not know the extent of the work that was done. The rubber weatherstripping around the windows is hard and in bad shape.
This car is being sold as is. We have tried to accurately represent the car with the photos. We would consider the car to be in good condition for a 40+ year old car. The car has not had significant restoration work.
Thanks for bidding!
