Vehicle History:
This vehicle was purchased by the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety (OHP), assigned to the Oklahoma City Division and was unit P9, which designated it as a pool unit. These patrol vehicles were either solid white, solid black or black and white. This unit is solid white.
Around 1987, the unit was transferred to the Comanche County Sheriff's Department (unit 084) and served as a marked unit until around 1989 when it was retired and went into the Sheriff's motor pool for storage. In 1991, it was issued to the Drug Task Force and marked as a phony Checker taxi cab. The Drug Task Force used the vehicle to deliver illegal narcotics to unsuspecting buyers. After a very short time as a fake cab, it was identified by the buyers as a "Narc" car and again retired to the motor pool.
Finally in 1995, it was sold at public auction to the current owner. Unit comes with an Oklahoma title.
Vehicle Condition:
After the '95 sale, the unit was put in long-term storage in an aircraft hangar along with several other vehicles. The engine was "pickled," and it sat for 23 years. Recently, a new fuel pump was installed, fresh gas added, oil and filter changed and the vehicle started easily. However, the carburetor will need to be rebuilt. It has original paint (poor) with no signs of ever being damaged, no cracks in glass or dash, tires hold air but need replacing, interior is good but the top of the rear seat has sun damage and the headliner is coming unglued, no rust or dents, no rodent damage found, original operators manual in glove box but the right outside mirror is missing. Both bumpers are made of aluminum and chrome plated, but some of the chrome is pealing on the front. A full set of wheel beauty rings (two more in the rear seat) and the spare tire are in the trunk. Vehicle has the police package which includes dual exhaust, heavy duty suspension and engine oil cooler among other things. It has a very low reserve.
