Calling all Green Hornet fans, here is your chance for your very own Black Beauty. This is a great looking and driving Imperial Crown. It is about an 11 year old restoration, with an estimated 10,000 miles on the rebuilt 440 V8 engine and torqueflite transmission. The black paint looks good with a few defects showing its age (see photos on website). The hood, trunk and doors open and close very solid. It appears to have its original quarter panels and trunk pan, so I would assume all other sheet metal as well. We have not bothered to check to see if it is the original engine, but were told to expect it was replaced when rebuilt. This car is a factory AC car, with separate rear air unit. Everything was working we were told, but currently it is not. The AC compressor needs to be replaced and has been removed but will come with the car.

This car just as it is now starts right up and drives great! Everything seems to be working correctly except for the gauges and AC. It has a deep rumble through the dual flowmaster exhaust and cruises easy, letting out a roar when you open the throttle. It will accelerate quickly considering its size. The engine is powerful but easily controllable and has a very smooth idle for just enjoying a country drive. The 3spd transmission operates properly and I have driven this car at 70mph without any issues. Lots of nice options, leather bench seats, lap belts, cigar lighter. It has an AM/FM radio and CD player, original working power antenna. It has power windows which we are told were all rebuilt with modern motors & mechanisms. They work fine but some make a little noise when going up and the rears can get a little out of alignment and need final adjusting. We have found it best to roll up the fronts first to keep the rear in line better. The car even retains its working factory power vent windows! The car has factory power steering and factory power brakes as well. The front brakes have been converted to disc, making driving more enjoyable. The state inspection and registration is current. A very great looking, great driving classic!

Tires are great with deep tread on aftermarket 20” American Racing wheels.
Massive 305/50/20 tires in the rear and 275/45/20 in the front for a healthy contact patch. The trim is all in pretty good original condition with very few dings but the bumpers have some denting (see photos on the website). This car has been stored indoors in a private collection but was driven regularly. All of the glass is good and works well. The body panels are showing some signs of age with slight bubbling or blistering around the rear lower quarter and in a few places around the decklid (see photos on website). The steering wheel is an aftermarket woodgrain wheel in like new condition and the horn operates properly. The interior is in great shape, looks new. The seats appear near mint and very soft and comfortable for a long cruise. The gauges work but the gauges do not appear to be accurate and will need some work which we can help with. We will be trying to get the gauges rebuilt as the auction is running and if we do will update the auction and reserve price. All of the lights all work, but the reverse lights are on a toggle switch next to the steering column, where it also has a power trunk release button using the original power trunk release mechanism. The front turn signal lenses are missing, though we are having some new ones made. The car does not have its original wiring, it appears to be a painless wiring harness. The rocker panel trim has been removed, but we did aquire it with the car and it will go to the new owner. The previous owner had it removed because he thought it looked better without.

The weather stripping is in OK condition, appearing mostly original with some cracking and weathering. The car runs and drives great. It is a large car so has a little ‘float’ as you might expect from a 60’s land barge but is easily manageable. The front end ball joints, bushings and tie rods all appear to have been rebuilt. I have driven it for testing and pleasure and it is a lot of fun and gets plenty of attention. The car has no mechanical problems that we can find. We replaced the water pump, alternator and power steering pump as soon as we got the car as preemptive maintenance. We are confident that you could drive this car anywhere. This car also comes with a cool matching Black Beauty keychain so you dont forget which car the keys go to.
The car comes equipped with an onboard battery tender to plug in during storage so you never have to worry about your battery in the event you cannot drive the car regularly.

If you are looking for 60’s luxury, you cant do better than the Imperial. More powerful and reliable than a Lincoln, and Americas last true hand built luxury car to rival Rolls Royce. Check out the aircraft-throttle interior door handles. The space-aged window controls, not the mention the forest of woodgrain & chrome surrounding you from the dash to the door panels. The bench seats have armrests for all passengers and pull handles for egress in the rear.

- we will try to add undercarriage photos and video to the website in the coming week.

Cruise in style this summer or hire your own karate-expert driver to clean up the streets! (machine guns not included)
These cars are staying in the $5000 - $30,000 range for original examples, but none are drivable. This is a car that has a few cosmetic dings from use but is mechanically rebuilt and sound and easily drivable, with new interior to boot. When was the last time you saw an Imperial that was not sporting its old, dry, cracked upholstery? I dare you to find a nicer example that you can drive home. You won’t find a nicer combination of performance and style and it makes for a great collectible or pleasure vehicle. Don't miss out on a chance to own one of the best 60’s luxury cars, ready to enjoy now.

You can hop in right now, drive home and enjoy.

We are collectors first,...

We are not just here to sell cars. We are just like you, collectors and lovers of vintage automobiles. We believe vintage vehicles to be a great investment, and one of the only investments you can actually enjoy. We also believe there is a classic car out there to fit nearly every need and budget. From Ferrari to Gremlin every vintage car has an interesting history and character and can be thoroughly enjoyable.

You can feel confident in buying a car from us, because you are not just buying an 'old, used car'. We have been buying and selling vintage cars now for over 20 years, and are looking for the same qualities you are in the cars we sell. You can be sure that every vehicle we offer has received a 100 point inspection and is fully road tested by experienced technicians. We want every light to work, every switch to operate properly and every mechanical feature to be functional. While this is not always completely possible, we will make whatever repairs we can to bring any vehicles we buy up to these standards before we offer it for sale. And we will not sell any vehicle until it is considered 'complete' and we have personally driven it ourselves. We expect every vehicle to be a great representation of its Make/Model, completely functional and street drivable for enjoyment without undue fear of mechanical failure or safety. We are collectors as well, and hope for the same buying experience you do, a good quality, easily drivable vehicle.

If you are looking to get into a classic car without spending a fortune this would be the opportunity for you. We do consider trades in the specialty or classic category. We can also discuss payment terms or options. We are happy to try and make a deal.
