1948 Chrysler Chrysler Town & Country Convertible -- Additional Info:

1948 Chrysler Town & Country
This is an older restoration of a completely rust-free example of a well-preserved car. This was formally part of the well-known Don Sears collection in Omaha, Nebraska. It was sold 26 years ago (1991) to a collector in San Diego who has recently deceased This is a full classic with the CCCA and can be used in CARAvans and other major events.
Cosmetically, the Town & Country is exceptional. The Catalina Tan paint is in lovely condition with very few flaws. Fit and finish are nice and the doors shut like they did when new. The original wood is in very good original condition. The glass appears original with no lamination. The chrome on the dash is original and still holding up well. Exterior chrome has been re-plated to a quality standard.
The interior has been well taken care of. The electronics work well, including the instruments, heater, radio, wipers and clock. The black top (Top code #1) is still nice and the top mechanism works really well, too.
The engine is very strong with good performance and oil pressure. The fluid drive operates as it should. It has all new brakes, including the shoes, master and wheel cylinders, etc. A full tune-up including ignition wires, plugs, points, etc. was performed and a full service as well. Runs beautifully.
The chassis is completely free of rust and has not been restored or detailed. There are no patches or issues with this Woodie. It has the original exhaust system with some small holes that need to be repaired or replaced [not noisy]. The factory spark plug cover that says "Spitfire" is missing. The starter has been changed to a button. The starterator components are still in the carburetor.
Well sorted and lovely car that has never been taken apart. Surprisingly rattle free and smooth driving at 60 mph.
