1961 Chrysler New Yorker Additional Info:

1961 New Yorker. This car just came out of long term storage in Kentucky shed. Previous owner hit a guard rail in the mid 70's and parked the car. Fortunately it was kept in a dry place and did not suffer any serious rust. Its well optioned with power seat (works), power antenna (works), 7 button Golden Tone radio (turns on but plays only a few crackles - maybe bad speaker?), remote mirror (works), dealer installed seat belts and air conditioning with tinted glass (windshield cracked). There's also what looks like a Mopar back up horn installed above the rear bumper.
Both right doors were caved in from the crash, and someone drilled out the spot welds on the B-pillar to begin a repair. The rocker is pushed in about 1" and the rear door jamb is pushed in, but the roof and floorpan are undamaged. From underneath, there are no signs of a crash. The right front door glass isn't broken and the door still opens. I don't have the rear door. The window garnish and right door chrome spear are included.
The engine is the original 413. When I got the car, the motor was free and turned over, but just as I was about to get it running, something locked up. I'm not sure if its a sticky valve or maybe something in the transmission (car rolls but maybe the front pump or converter are seized?). I dropped the pan to inspect the bottom end and everything looks fine, so at the very least the heads should come off to investigate the issue further. All the AC parts are intact and untouched.
The chassis is unbelievably rust free - unibody rails, body mounts, spring perches, etc are excellent. Rockers and door bottoms are clean. There is a spot of rust through in the driver side fender heel where it rolls under the car. Also several inches of the trunk drip rail are rusted through where the back end of the car stuck out of the shed. A matching portion of the trunk lid underside is rusted through as well - about a 3" diameter hole. The trunk floor is a little scaly but has no rust holes. Excellent trunk drop offs. From the underside, it looks like a western desert car.
Fuel tank is pushed in on the bottom and the front bumper is dented on the bottom. Grille has a crack on the upper frame.
With a battery installed the lights, turn signals and electric accessories work. I was unable to get the dash to light up but the dimmer switch feels pretty corroded.

I bought this as a donor car for a 61 DeSoto project, but its just too solid for me to cut up.
