1978 CHRYSLER NEWPORT, ST. REGIS, LOW MILEAGE SURVIVOR - This has been my occasional driver for about 3-years, but it's time to move on. this is a very solid original car. It has 95% original paint, vinyl top, interior, carpet, wheels, engine and transmission. It can be driven everyday with confidence. Car shows 67K miles, which I am sure is correct; however, we cannot verify it. It is equipped with the 400 V8 with 2bl carb, AM-FM-8-Track, cruise control, road wheels and desirable St. Regis options. All gauges and lights work properly. The heat/defrost work great. The A/C will need service, but it is all there.
The interior upholstery is very nice, with no holes or splitting of seams. Although there is some fading areas due to the sun. The original carpet is in very good condition. The headliner will be needing attention as it is beginning to have some sagging areas. Another item needing attentionis the wipers. They do not work due to deteriorated plastic parts in the wiper transmission area. The wiper's motor and intermittent option works fine. this car starts, runs, shifts, stops and drives great. Yes....you can drive this car home wherever you may live. The tires are very good. The car does not overheat.
The paint is very nice for its age with the only paint work being the lower passenger door. The body has NO rust visible. All floors including the trunk are rust-free.
