1977 Chrysler LeBaron Medallion Additional Info:
I've had this car for over a decade, bought it with a bad tranny. Had my Tranny guy build a nice 904 torqueflight for it. drove it a year or so with the lean burn 318 2bbl and then put in a rebuilt 360 with about 300000 miles on it. Still runs great and tranny still shifts like new. Put the electronic ignition in when motor was swapped. Charged a/c years ago and it worked great for a summer then got low again. Had front seats re-done a couple of years ago.Just had it painted about 6 mo ago.My son is learning to paint cars(he's done quite a few used car lot paint jobs in his carport) and this was his first paint job done in a professional paint booth. It is very presentable but has a few flaws. There are several runs in the clearcoat and one spot about the size of a half dollar on the passenger door where he sanded through the clearcoat getting a run out(he quit working on getting the runs out at that point). You have to look hard to find the runs, I believe four total. There is a spot on the top of the passenger fender that has some sort of glob of something on it(look at last pictures for it and runs). At that time I also had a new windshield put in as it always had a crack. This car is from Arizona and doesn't have a speck of rust anywhere, period. The chrome is exceptional. The landau top is starting to go and at some point would need to be replaced. I also put in new roof rail seals. The brakes are great, the heater works, all gauges and lights work. the radio/cd work well although the speakers are pretty old and dry. The power steering pump leaks a little(don't they all) and the tranny leaks a little from the shift seal I believe. Maybe 2 quarts a year. Tires are 50%. The sides of the car had been painted when I got it but the roof, decklid and hood were original paint. All the sheetmetal is original and there were only dings in the body, no dents. I took all trim, handles, bumpers etc off before painting. It shows very well even up close. It comes with a couple pints worth of leftover paint .
