1940 Chrysler Windsor Additional Info:
1940 Chrysler Windsor 2Dr Coupe
This is original and unmolested/uncut coupe. You will be hard pressed to see another like this on any classic car meet.
This car is in very good shape for its age and has a good mixture of patina and paint oxidation (at places) that give it the desired rugged look. The coupe runs and drives, shifts and behaves exactly how you would expect an original, antique car to behave….it is a hoot to drive! Some features below:
Clean/Clear TX title in my name
No rust or rot – this car is solid – floors (except two areas that have been patched), trunk, body, frame. All you see on the pictures is just surface rust!
Running Boards and brackets are solid!
Original V6 Flathead with no knocks, no smoke or leaks. Fires right up and runs like a sawing machine
Standard 3 speed with reverse on column– shifts very smoothly and nicely to every gear
It has overdrive
Drum brakes – stops well
Paint is very nice and shines. It has some oxidation and surface rust only – again no rot!
The chrome is nice but does show surface rust in some areas. The front grill is immaculate!
Every single gauge is original and works (yes, including gas gauge)
Spot lights – at this moment for show only as they are not wired
Windows go nicely up and down and windshield is perfect with no scratches
The windshield wipers work
All lights (hi/low), taillights including license plate light work
The horn is there but does not work
Tires are in excellent shape
Interior is very nice, clean and presentable with minor rips on the top of back seat. The only thing worth mentioning is the headliner, which is clean; however, sags.
Original 6V with new battery
You simply do not see 40’ coupes very often especially uncut ones and in such a great shape and quite frankly you do not see this car model around at all. I have priced the coupe very reasonably to leave a space for future owner personal touches.
Please call/txt/msg me if you have any question or need any additional information/pictures/videos about the car. I have tons and will make myself available to show the car in person. My cell is 281.six8six.5005.
I can help you arrange transportation to your door. The transport fees will be responsibility of the buyer, but I will help anyway I can and can set it up.
The car is stored in my garage where it will safely remain until funds clear and pick up is arranged.
There is a non-refundable small deposit (through paypal) required upon winning of the auction. The remaining balance is cash/certified check or wire transfer. As with anything this old, the car is sold as it, where is with no warranty implied/promised and offered.
