1968 Chevrolet Camaro ss Additional Info:
Recently restored 1968 Camaro SS 396 Convertible with Muncie 4 speed. Car was featured in Hot Rod Magazine (April2013) as a Barn Find. As the article states the history of this SS 396 Camaro the owner started to restore, then gave up in 1981 where the car sat in a Barn until 3 years ago. I purchased and began a complete restoration, as the article reads the original motor was removed long ago. As part of the restoration I sourced and had a 396 rebuilt and installed. All the tell tale signs of a true SS 396 Camaro were noted during the restoration to solidify the Hot Rod Magazine finding that this is a true 396 car ( BB heater core, BB crossmember, date correct 12 bolt rear, original Delco 4 piston front brakes, and the blacked out tail panel).Floors and trunk are all solid and original, minus a small repair done on pass. side floor. Hood, doors, and trunk are original, fenders are n.o.s. replacements and had to replace the 1/4's (with full panels). All new bushings, suspension, all new and rebuilt brakes, new under dash wire harness, aswell as a complete Flowmaster exhaust system. Glass is original, minus a replacement windshield, new gas tank and fuel lines. Original A.M. radio is in dash though inop, but who in there right mind would listen to the radio with the beautiful bellow that the 396 creates?.Went back with the original trim tag specs per production in 1968. Seafrost Green with White top(P1)less than 3% of Camaros were produced this color, with a standard blackinterior. New carpet installed withdynamiteunderlayment, new door panels with some original trim beingutilized.15x7 rallys in front with 15x8 rallys in rear, new BF Goodrich radial t/a tires. Engine wascompletely gone through with a new crank, proper cam withhydraulic lifters. Original cast intake with a Quadrajet 4 barrel, Muncie 4 speed transmission. Car has power steering and power brakes.Starts, runs, and dives very nicely. Any serious bidders are welcome to come and inspect the car in person. Thanks and good luck!.
