1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Additional Info:
First let me say that I bought this car in January with every intention of putting it back on the street and doing a little arm drop racing over at Muncie Dragway. When I bought it it had a new 580 CID bigblock with over 900 dynoed HP. However it had 14.4 compression so I sold it and replaced it with a 496 10.5 hyd roller cam engine to be used with pump gas. I have been so busy that I have never got to drive it let alone play with it. Now a new job and I can see the writing on the wall, so its up for sale.
The following parts are new or newer-Bumpers and SS pad-wheel chrome-emblems-front and back glass-door panels-carpet and sills-package tray-headliner-dash pad-seat covers and seat chrome-console but cut up inside-tilt steering column-weatherstrip kit-rebuild power steering box and new pump- altenator-
The engine has less than 1 hour run time. 496 with long rods Mahle pistons arp bolts ect- oval port heads-Harland Sharp rockers-Comp Cams hyd roller set up-850 double pumper from S&J. MSD 7al 3-Taylor wires-Headman headers- Electric pump-$300 dollar starter-Flywheel and balancer new and in date. Petronix distributor with MSD bronze drive- timing chain with thrust bearing-New stock looking but taller valve covers-repo Cowl induction air cleaner-
Turbo 400 with Hipster brake. Previous owner stated it was roller(i don't know what that means) New 3400 Stall with anti balloon plates- reverse pattern shiftworks shifter plate for ratchet shifting with new cable. Also have stock pattern gate if wanted. Trans shield still in date-Ford 9inch 4.10 gears- 4 link coil overs. Mini tubbed with stock outers 28x10.5 W tires. Barry grant fuel system- long trans brake button- Fuel cell I have the piece cut out if you wish to repair the trunk. Harwood fiberglass bolt on hood with light weight springs. Hanging on wall included. Bell helmet included out of date not shown- Aluminum radiator with dual fans-
Will buy back engine for $4500 and will buy back stock hood for $500. Engine means flywheel to balancer carb to pan. You will get the power steering stuff and the alternator as well as the brackets and electric water pump/ you will also get the fuel system from the carb back.
Note the pic of the car carrying the front wheels was with the other engine-simply posted it to shown you the car hooks hard.
I live one hour north of Indy. I can answer phone calls after 6 pm mon-fri and can return text anytime. 765 206 0350 steve Also note I cut the side bars out I was in the process of making them swing outs.
(08-30-16) Hi Guys thanks for all the questions here are some answers to the most common questions--Yes the fiberglass hood goes with the car- It has a SS steering wheel and GM Cowl hood-but i don't have a build sheet. Body is nice doors shut very well. no apparent rust. Floors are nice and solid again no rust to my knowledge. Paint does have chips and small blemishes. Drivers door slightly a different color- has been reshot at on time. Looks worse in pics than real life. Exhaust is brand new- bought painted ones to brake in new motor then was going to buy ceramic ones. For some reason you can't break in new engines with ceramic headers-they have there own break in procedures. I do have the side bars to the cage I was going to get two kits from Jegs to make them swing outs. The engine run strong has 11 pounds of vacuum at idle 900rpm. S&J
race carbs did a good job setting up the carb for my engine. does not load up or is real fat. I just got home from my new job at 730pm and it raining so I would be able to do the video today as promised. Sorry. I am going to take some underneath pics tonight will post shortly. Sorry I can not take calls during the day mon-friday with my new job but text and i will return. This is a nice car and If I was going to pick it could use new paint to be really really slick. It truly is one of the best looking cars at the track to say the least. You can take it to cruise ins and it will draw attention. Radio is am and works with after market speaker but MSD does interfer with it when its running. Yes all the lights work-turn signals ect.
The first serious one that sees this car in person will buy it
Now no trades except I am willing to take a nice and I mean nice pontoon in on trade-Not looking for fishing pontoon looking more a party type.
