1985 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 2500 Additional Info:
THE CHEVY 357
It's my favorite, but I can't keep them all!
If Chevy would have made a crew cab shortbox in 1985, this is what they would've built (with upgraded seats!)
ALL GM parts with aftermarket wheels, radio and speakers - radio and speakers are in proper spots, dash & doors are NOT chopped up.
The Build
Combination of 3 pickups: 1983 4x4 SB, 1985 Crew Cab 2x4 LB, 1987 EFI 2x4.
Frame shortened by machine shop to fit factory shortbox.
1/2 Ton 4x4 6 bolt axles for better mileage along with transmission and transfer case out of 1983 1/2 ton.
350 5.7L EFI gas engine, fuel tanks, return lines and L/R valve out of 1987 Chevy 1/2 Ton.
Owner's manuals from all 3 pickups.
Replaced and Rebuilt
Entire body and frame repainted inside and out.
WAS rust on one box-side and inner front fenders. Replaced with NOS GM. Box side is NOT weld in panel.
BFG 285/75/16 AT KO tires (Not KO2's).
Seats in front and back rows are BOTH 2004 era FRONT row, w/flip up consoles and front cup holders (seats 6).
New era correct speakers front and back.
New NOS GM dash pad.
New NOS dash bezel.
New carpet
New brakes.
New AC compressor.
Shop rebuilt transmission.
Needs: Inside of box painted or rhino-lined. Headliner re-covered. Radio wiring or radio. A few rock chips behind front wheels-shown in photo.
I have a few leftover parts, if interested.
