1967 CORVETTE ROADSTER BLACK/BLACK 327/350 A/C – ONE OF ONE!!
You are bidding on what I believe to be the only GM documented all original drive train 327/350 horse air-conditioned black/black Corvette Roadster known. The bulletproof documentation includes tank sheet, P-O-P, NCRS shipping report, and complete owner history back to 1967. This rare 1967 Corvette was purchased in April of 1967 from Newt Godfree Chevrolet in San Antonio, Texas.
When I purchased the car I sent it out to Tom Ames, owner of Automotive Specialties in Longview, Texas. Tom is a long time NCRS judge and the body and paint advisor for the NCRS.Tom evaluated the car and determined the paint should be left as is and the body should come off to do a complete component/frame restoration. NOS and original parts were used whenever possible. The original GM off road exhaust was still like new and was left on the car. The sound of the off road exhaust is incredible.
The interior, as you would expect to see in a 52,000 mile car, is extremely nice and completely original right down to the carpets.
The frame, according to Tom, is one of the most well preserved, immaculate frames he has ever seen and was 100% free of any pitting or deterioration. There was no evidence of any major body damage or panel replacement.
Upon completion of the body off restoration in June, I shipped it to the Bloomington Gold Corvette Show where it received an OEM Bloomington Gold award. It lost 180 points out of a possible 8500. It would be a great candidate for next year’s Gold Collection which will feature the 50th anniversary of the 1967 Corvette. It is a spectacular rare car with test miles only. The only reason I am selling it is to make room for my latest acquisition. Nice 67 350 H.P. cars are getting extremely hard to find and A/C cars are almost impossible.According to Noland Adams book there were a total of only 336 L79 A/C convertibles made. Good luck finding another black one!!!!
