1954 Chevy Chevrolet 6100 235/261
I have for sale, at no reserve, a goodol 54 Chevy dump truck. This truck came from a farm here in central Kansas, where it had sat for several years. We brought it home (we love to rescue these old trucks) and amazingly, like a lot of these old Chevy's, it fired up with minimal effort. Cleaned up the points, fresh gas, and a battery was all it took. I'm not sure if this is a 235 or 261, as this model truck came with both, but it runs beautifully, idles smooth, and carries 40lbs of oil pressure. If the truck sits for a few days you do have to give it just a little shot of gas in the carb, but it fires up and idles smooth every time! This truck does have plenty of farm character, by that I mean the typical bumps and bruises a truck would sustain from spending 60 years on the farm. The glass is all still in the truck, but the side windows are broke pretty bad. Windshield and rear glass are pretty good. I put in some brake fluid and the brakes pumped up (power brakes also!) then the wheel cylinder on the right rear started leaking, so the brakes will work, but are definitely going to need some attention. Headlights and dash lights all work, as do all the gauges with the exception of the temp gauge. Someone added adifferent temp gauge, which does work. Tires have decent tread, but are weathered. I ran the bed up and down several times, and it worked well, and then a seal started leaking. Not on the cylinder, just a small half dollar size seal that goes over the shift linkage for the hoist. This will be very easy to fix. This truck would be perfect for your pumpkin patch, hay rides, small farm, etc, just plan on spending a couple of days getting it into everyday driver shape. The battery that is currently in this truck is out of another one of my projects, so when you come to get it, bring a 6 volt battery, or for the price of a battery (approx. 75.00) I will put one in it for you. The seat could use a new seat cover. I just threw couple of old sheets over it for moving around the yard. I am flexible on storage time - as long as it's paid for in a timely manner. I do have a clean open title for this truck. This is a hobby for me and I want to make sure you know exactly what your getting, so please call Cort at 620-786-5172 with any questions. I also have100% positive feedback, so bid with confidence. Thank you, and good luck.
