1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 210 Wagon Additional Info:
This is just a beauty little car and I have had it three seasons which is a record for me. whenever we are in a parade or at a show the cameras come out because it seems to have a personality of its own. It looks fantastic 10 feet back but it has a couple small paint/body issues. The drivers door was painted over a laquer so it has a bit of a crystal pattern. The drivers fender has a big scrape where the paint was removed and the rear drivers quarter has a slight dent in the lower portion between the wheel well and rear bumper. The stainless also has a slight dent as if something has fallen into it. The roof has some ripples as I believe it had a rack on it back in the day. The ONLY body part that needs replacing is the rear sill at the tailgate and they are available for $340. I am describing these items as they do not show in the photos. Body wise the panels are straight as an arrow and the car would just need a good sanding with a long board if you wanted to doll it up.
Glass is all good and the stainless is in nice condition. Front and rear bumpers have some pitting and a few small bumps and bends but they are presentable enough.
The floor and body mounts are brand new and visible in the photos. The upper floor in the rear and the spare tire area is original but spotless and solid. I have applied a foil sound attenuation material to the cargo area.
The interior is old school diamond panels. rear seat is stock finished in black naugahyde complete with tape patches. Front seats are fabric buckets but very comfortable and very adjustable. Everything needs reupholstering if you are into perfect. It worked just fine for us. The carpet is new factory molded black and in perfect condition. Headliner is new and also in perfect condition. I have installed an aftermarket "look alike" radio that now is capable of am/fm/sirrius or jacks for ipod. Wipers have been converted to electric motor. AC works good but I prefer vents and no drafts. Heater also works fine as do the original floor vents
There is power steering, power front disc brakes and it stops on a dime. Engine is a 400 small block with an Edlebrock 650 (manual choke) and a 700 R tranny with stock rear end 355 gears. I have replaced both axle bearings also. It drives great and we load it up and take it to the lake most weekends just like the old days. It is also great on gas mileage and the reason we use it instead of the hemi truck a lot of the time. Being the type of person who tries to disclose everything about the car, the engine can have a slight vibration at lower RPM only between shifts if you accelerate gradually. It does not always occur though? If you put your foot into it, it does not happen and it works just fine on the highway. I changed out the fan and harmonic balancer but no change. I have driven it for three years and there is no indication it will ever let you down.
I purchased this vehicle out of North Dakota but found newspapers blocking off the vent that were from California but were in Chinese so not sure where it originated in California. You can contact Turbo Auto Transport in Great Falls for a quote on shipping @ 1-888-418-4029 Ext 101. Their staff also look after all of the paperwork for cross border and make it all really easy. I think the reserve is very reasonable compared to others I have seen. I think I have described the car the way it is and you wont be dissappointed. Lots of luck bidding
