Desirable V-8 Bel Air, Maintained by Collectors

The 1955 Bel Air marked a significant point in Chevrolet's history. Eschewing the wide rear fenders of its earlier cars, the company shrugged off its pre-war design language. 1955 was also the year Chevrolet introduced its first new V-8 since 1918. 1955 Bel Airs equipped with this engine have become particularly desirable, as collectors view them as the beginning of an era for Chevrolet.

The Bel Air Convertible on offer is one of those desirable cars, equipped with Chevrolet's seminal 265 CID V-8 and optioned with a push-button radio and whitewall tires. While much of the early history of the car is not known, it wears an attractive older restoration and in 2006 it was acquired by a collector and featured in his private museum containing hundreds of classic cars. In his care, the car was stored and maintained in an ideal environment and it received regular attention. It was acquired by the current owner in 2011 and featured in his collection, regarded to be one of the finest in the country. He treated the car to a repaint in its current red. Please note the photo of the scratch near the convertible top boot.

With its iconic styling and optional V-8 engine, it's not hard to see why buyers flocked to dealerships in the 1950s to buy these cars. Comfortable and powerful, the V-8 Bel Air was capable of spirited freeway jaunts or relaxed country cruising. This well-presented example offers the new owner an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of 1950s Chevrolet motoring.

I am helping the owner in the sale process of this car and I will be answering all inquiries for him. The owner and the cars are new to eBay and that is why we don't have any feedback yet. Please contact me for any more info you would like, and if you need any additional photos, I am happy to provide them. We have several other listings currently for other 50s American cars.
